Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.'

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still poor. Of course, liberal Dumocrates will refute these facts as propaganda from the radical right.

VRM 02-16-2009 11:40 PM

1. Louisiana - 20.3%
2. Mississippi - 19.9%
3. New Mexico - 18.6%
4. West Virginia - 18.5%
5. Kentucky - 17.4%

7. Texas - 16.3%
8. Oklahoma - 16.1%
9. Arkansas - 16.0%

See Table 699, Statistical Abstract of the United States, 2006.

Lets see...Except for New Mexico they all voted for McCain. So if people who vote DNC are 100% insane, then people who vote GOP are close behind them at 90%.

Give it a bloody rest.

Why is there a belief that the political party is directly related to the level of poverty in Detroit??

Dang, I hate to be the one to bring you all up on current events, but Detroit, in general, builds cars. If the cars do not sell, there is NO work.

:D

Well, yeah, but my rebuttal was funnier!;) Though I'm sure Warren (or one of the other GOP operatives here) will not think so.

I fell out my chair at his response to my singing cube mate.

I laughed so hard, my manager came down to see if I was okay.

Simple-The poor people are the Dumocrats "constituency",in order to keep their "constituency",the Dumocrats HAVE to keep them poor.

Detroit has been in the sh!tter since the late 50's.And the Dumocrats have been their to make sure they keep slidin' down hill.THey are doing a pretty good job-ain't they?

stuartb 02-17-2009 11:14 AM

ok everyone needs to admit that our two parties are broken and won't be fixed until neither of them has power. We need to stop electing career politicians and start electing the smartest people for the jobs.

joe g 02-17-2009 01:58 PM

The major cities in america are run by liberals and you see how screwed up they are. Give the other partys a chance to run them and then if they dont fix em, throw them out also.
Here in ct every major city is deeply in debt, school drop out rates are the highest ever, all three big city majors are either in jail or going there. Hartfords major jsut got indited 2 weeks ago. Our governor was in jail for a year
The stimulus package will end up doing one thing for sure- MORE politicians will end up in jail from greed and graff once they get there hands on the money

What is considered the poverty line?

Ron61 02-21-2009 10:52 AM

Jams,

A few years ago the Govt. spent a lot of money having a study done to determine what Middle Class is and I don't think they ever really came up with an answer for that. As for the poverty line, I am not sure they have actually decided what it would be.

I would definitely consider that a poverty line!!! In NJ and other states try to survive on double, triple or quadruple that amount! I think I paid 10,803 in Federal tax this year. I make a good salary but nothing to brag about and nothing close to 6 figures.

Drop out of High School + Have a kid or more + Don't get Married before having the Kid (s) + Divorce when you finally do marry = A life time BROKE

Such people have always been broke and always will.
Very rarely do stupid people doing stupid things succeed.
It's not rocket science.

I also don't see it as my job to pay/reward them for their stupid decisions.
If stupid doesn't hurt, you just keep doing stupid.

"The difference between ignorance and stupidity is that you can fix ignorance... if you're not stupid."

jams 02-22-2009 08:28 AM

I taught in Urban Jersey City, NJ. It is just a cycle of stupidity and poverty. Until the cycle is broben nothing will change.

The city once developed an area with prefab houses(beautiful)...within a few months it turned back into a slum.

If people don't have to work for it, they don't respect it!
