Glad to see everyone was paying attention to the President's speech!

Chaplain...

It's not greed that is hurting us. It's the enslavement of the productive. When you allow the Government to steal from the producers at the point of a gun it shows how much has turned in this country. Success should never be punished, and failure should never be glorified.

DougD 02-25-2009 10:09 AM

Who invented the assembly line?

Poor ol' Eli Whitney takes one in the shorts again.......

That "idiot predecessor" as you so mistakenly called him helped to keep this country safe after 9/11 and don't EVEN try to tell me that 9/11 was his fault.

Well, keep thinking that Nobama is going to be better than his predecessor & we'll check back with you in a year & see how you feel then.:p

Unless we can break the cycle of greed in this country we're screwed. How low can a person get like Madoff who screwed over some of his best friends for his own personal gain. I hope we haven't reached the point where we think that banker in Florida who distributed the 60 million to present and past employees is a sucker rather than a saint.

Chaplain,

WOW! I guess I "misunderestimated" the political reaction on this site!

I was making a motor head comment, not a political one. I would have made the same comment had Bush, Carter, Lincoln, or Washington said it.

Automobile as in internal combustion powered or steam powered? ;)

Steam was France, Internal combustion was Germany :)

She is okay, but not my dream girl by a long shot. Now quit trying to change the subject.

I like the talk from Obama about cutting the deficit in half. It sounds like a good thing. Hard to believe what he said when he just signed away 900 billion last week. I doubt that all of that cash (and by cash I mean debt) is going where it should be going.

When is that tea party?

Well said, and given the times I would have posted the same reply.

I wonder if the old coconut shell game is going on here. Raise the debt by a zillion then claim credit for cutting it in 1/2 later.

This is strange math.

Now, a tea party sounds like a good idea--a really good idea at that. I think we should throw one. Want to join?

Sign me up I'll come. Can we get the soldier from the link I posted to be our guest speaker?

I like Twinnings English Breakfast. So, no one touch that one. The Constant Comment and Earl Grey can go into the "drink."

While 53% of the nation electorate voted for Obama, I thought we could get close to 100% here on this site to agree that Danica is really purty. **)

David Kirkham 02-25-2009 11:49 AM

Good,

We have 3 guys now. Not sure what we will dump in.

Never been to a protest before...it's going to be fun--well, at least interesting knowing you guys!

Chaplain,

That soldier's language wouldn't go over very well in Utah

...but his spirit would! I imagine he has seen some tough things in his day.

David ... I remember seeing something on Fox News the other morning about some individual/organization that already was in the process of organizing protests in about 5 major cities .... said something about time for a new American tea party .... and I totally agree ... it`s way past time for this .

I checked the site. None for Salt Lake City yet. We need a Salt Lake City Tea Party and if no one else is doing it, then I intend to do it! Even if only 3 of us show up.
