Default Obama Requires YOU to SERVE, H.R.1388, "The Give Act" to reform the National Service

Obama Requires YOU to SERVE, H.R.1388, "The Give Act" to reform the National Service Laws

The proposed bill is here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.+1388:

One of the bills purposes is to set up a “commission” to determine a number of things one of which is...

Quote:
“...whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation..."
This is involuntary servitude. Very chilling.

Some language in the Bill is particularly disturbing like:

- “leverage Federal investments to increase State, local, business, and philanthropic resources to address national and local challenges;

- encourage national service efforts to address pressing national challenges, such as improving education for low-income students, increasing energy conservation, and improving the health, well-being, and economic opportunities of the neediest individuals in the Nation;

- expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities, including during the summer months, to improve the education of children and youth and to maximize the benefits of national and community service, in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community to children and youth throughout the United States;

- increase service opportunities for our Nation's retiring professionals

- encourage members of the Baby Boom generation to partake in service opportunities

- Civilian Community Corps shall be called the "National Civilian Community Corps"

- the Director determines appropriate "Uniforms"

Why does the Government have to create Laws to make people Volunteer? The Government should NOT legislate Volunteerism.

- How much money will this National program cost?

- Take note of the Miscellaneous Section (Title VI) of the Bill. Very Strange!!!

- Sec. 601. Amtrak waste disposal.

- Sec. 602. Exchange program with countries in transition from totalitarianism to Democracy.

I suggest offering up VRM, Cobra(space)Bill and Excalibur if this bill is passed - it already has 25 sponsors in the House - all democrat, of course.

We all know where this leads.

Looks as if he is rushing to get his dictatorship established before someone does away with him. I am sure that Queen Pelosi is really behind this as is Boxer and Fienstien.

It's not just the youth that they will be after - senior citizens will be drafted as well.

Remember the movie Soylent Green or however they spelled it. They found a use for Seniors.

Also where are all of the people who supporded this guy so fervently now? Don't they know this bill will affect them just like the rest of us?

Some have mentioned in the past the mandatory service would be for the betterment of the nation. While I agree that my military service made a man out of a whinny little punk, I still believe that mandatory service of any kind takes us down a notch as a nation. I believe one of the things that makes our military so strong and so great is that it is a voluntary force. The men and women are there because they wanted to be. This would disappear as a norm across all ranks when you make it mandatory.

Now I do believe that this country would be better if everyone did serve, but I think you loose more than you gain when you make it mandatory.

I'm not in favour of it.
Lots of countries (Switzerland, Israel, Cuba, Libya) have mandatory service requirements. Israel even makes women serve.

Wink Hey Ron.....an epiphony!*.....

......re Soylent Green------instead of eating (and "eliminating"*#2) us olde phartes (I yam one, as of last Thursday!)------whyn't we just grind up and burn all the FELONS? Their "oxidization" would spin a lot of steam-powered turbines....generate a lot of electricity....a small iota of which could then be used to prepare more felons for combustion.....By the Jaysuss, this works!!!!

Hey, nobody steal this idea! I'm going for a patent!

*nope, it's not an old YURPEEN car......
**bio-gustatory pun of the day.....ar-ar-ar

Right on the money.

They will have training encampments across the country. Volunteers will be given apptitude and skill tests. Those who have a military potential will be trained in neighbrhood patrolling ( like the Muslims Communities have, and the New Black Panthers). Eventually , after skirmishes with locals (as a result of hateful "rascist" confrontations from some communities), they will be armed. Most of these types of recruits will be latino and black " reformed" thugs and drug runners.

Thats much the way that the SS was formed in Germany.

Soon social Darwinism will be used as a view to found a program which will excoriate our freedoms, and then will we as Americans remain silent?

Your neighborhood watch program is on the way. You will see them come to you first as census takers.

History , if it is read, reveals that all of this has been done before, and it has failed.

But the toll in human life was horrible, and now the real battle will begin for America.
