The Joe the Plumber Syndrome
I look in here about every 6 months or so and see the same thing over and over. It's a free country (mostly) so you can spend your time as you can afford or wish, but I don't understand why someone without a advanced academic degree and decades of experience in analysis would get themselves so worked up about the socio economic impacts of the Goverment . If you don't understand Quantum Physics or Thermodynamics are you delusional enough to think you could send a person into space and bring him back safely ?? Of Course not. Now I suspect VP Cheney was using hyperbole when he said that deficits don't matter, they do. People without the training and background usually relate the federal budget to their household or business budget but that analogy is misleading. You and I are not the Goverment and we do not have their obligations, opportunities and time frames. The Gov. does not spend money in the sense that you and I do, it simply reallocates resources from one sector to another according to the publics priorities as expressed in the elective process. Now you might not agree with those priorities and so you have a right to express your opinion and vote your values but you should recognize that you probably don't have all the facts or all the solutions . Again, quit driving your wife nuts and get a hobby. See you in 6 months...

...Now I suspect VP Cheney was using hyperbole when he said that deficits don't matter.
They do, but not to the present and future extent. |

But I'm am not part of the Goverment, whatever that is. It's the GOVERNMENT that pisses me off. But being the unedumacted dufi I is, what does I no? Dan |

Secondly, this tuype of forum is where grassroots stuff gets started - you never can tell where 'comments' may lead, perhaps to revolution. |
I only know what I read...

or the morose pathological doomsday senario's of Glen Beck. Your the one that would know if you are wasting your time on problems and solutions that you really don't understand. Do you disagree with my point that the current situation is very very complicated and not subject to the Joe the Plumber simple solutions ?? You know Cobra , we may be in a Revolution, and moving rapidly toward a Western European Progressive Society. I don't know, but neither does it worry me much because like most of the people in here, I have sufficient resources to take advantage of whatever the Government does. |

That sure was a fast six months. Looks like your financial dreamscapes are no more accurate than your calender.
EACH step the political bozos have taken along the "path to recovery," has been shown to be wrong. Yet you think the journey will end well. Illogical! You talk like a liberal, they believe that BECAUSE Bush was bad, Obama must be good. Again illogical. So far it looks like history will show him to be worse than Carter, Nixon, or Hoover. Could I be wrong? YES! Would I prefer to be wrong? YES! Will I be wrong? Probably not, if both history AND current events are right. Dan |

Actually, you sound like a liberal - as least your input if taken seriously would have the impact of assisting the Obama Administration directly and indirectly. By the way, Hannity and Rush simply have a platform to rant and rave, but they simply are expressing Conservative and at times Libertarian views - Conservative/Libertarian core principles are practices by practically everyone here - no real reason to listen to Talk Radio, although it can be very entertaining as well as informative as to what is happening - as is this site. Hopefully, you will now go away for the customary 6 months - we will be here taking care of business, as usual - nothing will change, so you may want to come back annually or perhaps every other decade. By the way, you're not on Obama's payroll, right? |
Seems like thinly veiled elitist liberal BS. We are all too stupid to understand the complexity of life, let the experts tell us what to do.
I'll expend some of my obviously limited intelligence to figure out where the non-incumbents are on the next ballot. |

Typical liberal b/s! I live near Weslyan Univ, a liberal bastion of academic b/s. We go to town meetings a nd the professor's show up with there brilllant idea's that only work on paper. Those who never held a REAL job, live in subsidized housing, use big words!Bart fits that bill- we are all to stupid to understand the world we live in.

Bartruff1,
I don't know, but neither does it worry me much because like most of the people in here, I have sufficient resources to take advantage of whatever the Government does. Spoken like the true Obama politician. How would you know what most of the people in here can or can't afford or what resources they have? It is nice that you have sufficient resources to take advantage of whatever the Govt. does. Why not go away for 12 months or better yet until Obama is out of office? Ron |
This arguement should end as it cannot be resolved.
Bart1 doesn't speak Reality, and none of us speak Advanced Utopian Dreamer. So there is a "Failure to Communicate!" Dan |
Bart1 is very indicative of the mind set of the bulk of the populous in western WA. Its really sacary.

Does anyone recall the scene from "Back to School" when Rodney Dangerfield confronts the professor on setting up a new factory?
By the way: Call me when you have no class..... Roscoe |

Start a thread on it and we'll finish it for you. We apply it all the time to our cars. What is it you want to know? :MECOOL: And what do you mean by "You and I are not the Goverment(sic) and..."? Of course we are the government. Geez. That's what democracy is all about. We vote and things happen. The US government is not a detached entity as in "them vs us". And we did "send a person into space and bring him back safely". Several times, starting a long time ago. You really should get out more. ;) Unfortunately we are not allowed to vote on many of the corporate boards that are now nearly running the country. We may have to vote, one way or another, to change that. The buck starts here. We the people... :p "The Civil War was a mistake...we should have let them go and we still should." OK. You got me here. This could be the start of a brilliant new perspective. Care to elaborate? Wes ... |

Pretty much the same outcome as now, I paid to get screwed and didn't get to sample the drinks. Scott S |
All right, that's enough!
The real issue we have here is that Bartruff1 is accused of being a liberal, but he owns a Cobra! How can this be? Can anybody write a quantum physics formula to prove this is possible or will a black hole swallow us all with this contradiction? |
Quote:
Paul F, Can anybody write a quantum physics formula...? Certainly. http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/a/b...0ab66f1873.png Ownership is both true and not true at the same time. Bartruff1 cannot be seen as liberal while in "his" Cobra because the very act of observing him disturbs the position of the Cobra. But then alternately observing his alleged Cobra disturbs the position of Bartruff1 as a liberal. So we remain uncertain as the path Bartruff1 drives or how fast he is going. As in the Heisenberg Ownership Uncertainy Principle. And just as soon as we can insert a Black Hole into the same formula and observation, we will have finally proven the elusive Unified Field Theory. But I don't want to hijack the thread here.
