SO tired of this stuff

Hey, I am no angel, but I would like to think I have learned a lesson or two. I decided a long time ago that if I would not say it to your face, I would not say it in here. All this ranting is rediculous. Some of you worry about threads being closed... I suspect that this forum (The Lounge) is close to being closed. And I would not blame the mods.

I for one, have just added one more poster in here to my "ignore list". Maybe some of you might want to consider the same thing? Please?

Mike

BTW, Jamo, anybody, does the ignore list keep emails and messages from coming? If I want to ignore someone, I sure as hell don't want them emailing me or messaging me!

bomelia 04-16-2009 08:54 PM

Hmmmm... maybe I am on all of YOUR ignore lists!

Mike

Ignore List
This is a list of users you wish to ignore. To add a user to your ignore list, go to your User CP and in the left Nav Panel under Miscellaneous, select [Buddy / Ignore Lists], type the username you wish to ignore in the Ignore List blank and click [Update Ignore List]

Posts from users that you are ignoring are hidden from view when logged into the forums.
...not PMs or e-mails.

CobraEd 04-17-2009 07:12 AM

Whatever it is, . . . I missed it again. DAMN!

.

You didn't miss anything. And that's the point. In this trash talking, tabloid reporting, us against them, I'm right your wrong, faceless internet, virtueless world, it's time to stop. What made (past tense intended) America great, was that fact that we had tollerance, we had virture, we had some class and style.

Now we attack the other side, we trash talk, we polarize the country. It doesn't change anyones views. It only makes the other side (of whatever it is being discussed) rant louder and polarize us even more. It's time we stopped the trash talk and got back to intelligent, cordial discussion (remember William F. Buckley?) on topics, with respect of the other sides view. Let's get America back together with respect, dignity, cordiality, and calm, intelligent discussion of the topics of the day.

What an interesting taste of soup this cook has made.

The cook does not like the taste of his own cooking?

" Nulle Bastardi Carborundum "

Don't let the bastards wear you down. There have always been zealots on both ends of the political spectrum. People who see themselves in spite of a lack of formal training and or experience as experts on everthing from the Constitution to the Middle East...from the Fed to Global Trade...the UN to immigration ...on the Right they have Fox News and and Talk Radio to confirm their " the sky is falling " view of the world. Mostly they are harmless and just drive their wives nuts with their rants. If you really want to understand their motivation you might read Eric Hoffer's 1951 book " The True Believer ". One interesting irony is that Hoffer was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Ronald Reagan. I should add, there is a obvious liberal bias in the "driveby media" and MSNBC has a left wing agenda almost as annoying as Fox but the real left wing nutcakes are on the internet. The polls show that 70% of the voters are fiscal consevatives believing in small efficient gov and balanced budgets and are socially tolerant having a live and let live attitude. Don't pay any attention to the shouters.

Welcome back cdc.........

cobra de capell 04-17-2009 05:34 PM

Thanks.

You know, it's not so bad that some members get a little carried away once in awhile - there is a price to pay with no free lunch.

Anyway, I've decided to let this little guy talk for me when it gets hot around here.....as luck would have it, he's also a conservative.....
