Is this climate change

Well I had a big night with a few Cobra and GT40 friends the other night.

Arriving home I found a luke warm welcome.

When I asked what was for dinner I received a response that indicated that she was a bit hot under the collar.

Later in the night I found I got the cold shoulder.

When I asked the next morning for a cooked breakfast the response and look was frosty

Mmmm I'm starting to understand about climate change and global warming...

Ron61 06-03-2009 02:48 AM

:)

Bernie,

At least that is better than Al Gore. It should put you in the running for the Nobel Prize.

Ron

bomelia 06-03-2009 08:20 AM

So, you did not notice any globular warming?

That usually takes jewelery or flowers.

Hi Ron,

Yes, just being a little cynical regarding all this climate change.

I am starting to feel like a criminal every time I start my car..

It is interesting that our Climate Change Minister here has held back on a Government paper wanting more information. I'm wondering if the scientists are starting to confuse everyone about climate change. I'm yet to hear or read about consensus on the topic.

Well Al Gore what can I say..

Cheers

Bernie

Bernie

You should come back to America my friend. You'll never get a cold shoulder here.

JBCOBRA 06-05-2009 04:50 AM

Some guy in a Prius pulled up to me and gave me a snooty look. So I yelled over to him "The gas you are saving, I'm wasting! LOL That was fun.

:3DSMILE:

Hey Bernie,

Don't feel like a criminal when you drive your car. Enjoy it while you can. If I ever get mine back I am going to drive it some and I won't feel at all bad about it.
As for the having everyone confused abut the Global Warming mess, I think every scientist on the planet has their own ideas. We don't seem to have any type of policy here. Just whatever someone in an area thinks of. I did see a small article the other day that if they were serious about cleaning up the air then they were going to have to make the factories and all other businesses clean up their emissions, as just taking cars off the road won't do it. I have watched for an answer to that, but not a word.
Have a great day and burn some more gas.

Ron :)

Did ya blow some oil on the side of his car?

bomelia 06-05-2009 08:40 AM

Hey Ron, maybe you could research this for us. Someone told me that Germany and other "enlightened" Euro countries were secretly backing off the "greening" of their power grid. Seems in one day alone, energy requirements spiked 38% (what this means, I do not know... were folks using power to make power? or did the green energy supply fail?)

Hi Bomelia! He did get some roasting tire aroma LOL

JBCOBRA 06-05-2009 08:47 AM

I heard someplace that lawnmowers are the biggest problem?
And when they plug in electric cars, where does the electricity come from? Coal burning power plants?

Ron61 06-05-2009 08:50 AM

Mike,

I don't remember seeing that. The 38% spike would seem to indicate that they drew that mush more power than normal from the regular grid, but that is just a guess. The last I heard they were planning on more nuclear and wind powered plants. They have a new vertical turbine out now that the wind turns but it has no propeller so the birds are safe and the environmentalists can't complain abut that. I believe it is 130' tall but will have to verify that. In fact they are talking about putting some of them on Hatchet Mountain which is East of here.

My ex has a cousin that lives in Bremen Germany. He works at a sewage plant. They grow their on enzimes (sp) that eat the nasty stuff and that creates the methaine gas the runs their own power plant that runs their whole company. Talk about self effeciant.

He came over here and she took him to visit one of our sewage plants and he could not believe that we use chemicals to eat the nasty stuff and that is it.

He says that their sewage plants hardly even smell. Cant say the same for ours.

Ron61 06-05-2009 11:07 AM

Terry,

I believe that as a whole most of Europe is way ahead of us in finding ways to make power that is clean. All of our people are to obsessed with getting rid of cars to think of other ways to generate power that would also help clean the air. I saw some big food company the other day was showing some of their plants on TV and they use methane gas and other types of clean fuel to run their plants in Europe and I believe one big one here in the U.S.

I also know that a two stroke wiper sniper or lawn mower can put out more emission than the average car in a week. This was recorded.

We have adds on SBS television here that runs a pie graph based on the planet.

It shows us that one third of emission is from factories, one third is from transport and the other third is from livestock, cattle etc.

You guessed it a an add for vegitarians telling us to eat vegitarian and not meat.

I can see the meat industry here sitting by and watching this...%/

Hi to all there in Texas. I sure miss that card game in Texas there.

Hope all is good with the gang there.

What is Jay up to - burning plenty of fuel and stuffing the environment I hope...

What's this world coming too? A non-serious thread hi-jacked to a serious subject.;):D

Whenever I'm out in the garage, surronded by everything Cobra, wearing my Cobra watch, cobra tee-shirt, Cobra Cap, dusting off the little beast...I'm always warm and feel just great.
Global warming is a good thing....others can sit around and enjoy their chill.

Bill

JBCOBRA 06-06-2009 08:06 AM

LOL Bill!

I am all ready to go beat the snot out of my car today. Got five gallons of 116 octane and the rest 93. Have a song cued up that makes me go berserk. Every once in a while I could care less if I get a ticket. Today is one of those days. Just doing my part for global warming!
