Walter Cronkite Has Passed
He passed away a short while ago at the age of 92 years.
Amazing guy. He went ashore with the troops on D-Day and also went along on bombing runs over Germany. Plus much much more. RIP |
A true journalist, verse the talking heads we now have.
RIP Sir. |

The most trusted man in America when they were real journalist!
My favorite quote of his was ( You have to be a liberal to be a journalist ) |
In 1972 a public opinion poll placed Cronkite as most trusted man in america. What they didn't tell you is that Betty Crocker came in second.
|
Is that true Ha! Learn something every day!
|
R.I.P. Uncle Walter. That's the way it is 17 July 2009. A very sad day in America for those who grew up with watching him on television.
|
:(
Walter Cronkite and Paul Harvey, two of my favorite reporters. There won't be any more like them I fear. Ron :( |
Here's a fitting description of Cronkite's legacy, as written in 2006 by Arnaud de Borchgrave......
http://www.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=5875 Cronkite’s death means nothing to me. He was a demented and delusional leftist POS, but I hope that he found Christ before he checked out. |
He was only reporting the truth, both of those wars were wars of choice, and with nefarious motives, we can destroy any nation at will, but to occupy a country with an uncontrollable flow of weapons coming into that country, it will always be a stalemate! the occupied will always have more motive to fight and even if as in Vietnam we win all the battles, it will never stop the fight.

Another libtard gone. Many more to go.

The 'truth' is very illusive and is always filtered through a point of view, in this case a very liberal point of view. All he really did was read the news, but beyond that blubbered liberal opinions ad nauseum infinitum, especially later in life. No great loss. By the way, he was an atheist, but hopefully as mentioned above is found God prior to passing - if not it's going to be a handbasket to hell scenario. |
Well you know Jesus is proud of your humanity CDC! I too would want nothing to do with your brand either.

'brand' makes me proud. By the way, what you really need is a 'come to Jesus' meeting, but unfortunately you don't seem ready - the curse of government work. |
Last time...cool it.

I lifted this from a friend. It sums it up pretty well:
"Cronkite was respected in part because there was no reference point or alternative views to observe or contrast his bias. One major problem with the liberal media bias of the Cronkite era you mention was their blindness to their own subjectivity and the myth-creation of an ‘objective media’, when in fact it was anything but. They could get away with it because the liberal media had a virtual monopoly on national inside-the-beltway news for many decades. Yet through a historical lens, we can review how for example CBS / 60 minutes went after General Westmoreland, Cronkite’s famous declaration that Tet was a defeat for the US (a dubious claim now we know that it decimated the VietCong), etc. Now that we live in a world of a plethora of news and opinion sources, anyone can triangulate where any particular news source is, in terms of their reliability, objectivity, and bias. If you have any questions, you can always go to http://newsbusters.org or other media ‘watchdog’ places to see what critics have to say about it." |
Rest In Peace.........
