I'm so friggin bored.... :(

Recovering from a back injury really sucks. I am so damn bored. I need some ideas of things I could do to pass the time besides surf the web and watch TV. Anyone got any creative ideas?? :(

Hey, your not alone! I'm sittin around recovering from a shoulder resurfacing and doing the same thing....Nothing! It's been 3 weeks, starting therapy next Monday...guess I'll have something to do then...more vicadon.

Well, have you tried drinking alot?, sleeping moore, watchin porn on the computer, walkin the dog, *****in at everyone...did I say drinkin alot?....Hummm!

How about makin a list of all the things your going to do to your Cobra when your feelin better. Things like adding sway bars, dash opertated brake bias control, Radiator cap with a built in anode to reduce corrosion, dash switch decals, interior side door panels and last but not least a bigger motor.

Anyway, hope you get well soon, Bill

Try simple meditation. It may not sound terribly interesting, but it is remarkably refreshing, is great for reducing stress and anxiety, and it's easy.

Close your eyes. Pick a short word, such as "om", and begin repeating the word over and over again to yourself. Whatever else you're thinking, just keep repeating your word. Sooner or later your mind will go quiet, and drift briefly. Let it. If you start to think about anything, just start repeating your word to yourself again.

Have you ever tried smoking marijuana? It could help you relax, alleviate pain, and it will also allow you to zone out such that the time passes more quickly and pleasantly.

Books on tape?

Some decent shows on DVD and lots of Vicodin?

That only take a min. or two and you probably already do it.

onefastmustang 07-19-2009 08:58 PM

It was less than a minute.... So I need to do it many times to fill the day.. LOL

Try building a model or 10?

Jamo 07-20-2009 02:28 AM

Honestly, I don't envy you. I would be climbing the walls.

Great idea about building models, btw. Learn a musical instrument or a new language?

Rotate among several projects. Use the other hand.

You might want to take up writing.

Write fiction, it allows you to have more fun with the story.

:D :D

Ask for sponge baths.

LoBelly 07-20-2009 07:52 AM

Maybe think up a creative advertisement for the bike (?)*

If I were to put myself in your shoes I'd probably be looking at my to do list and making comprehensive plans (priorities/time tables/costing/resources/skills etc) and trying to tick off as many as elements as I could from the pc/bed.

'Goals are dreams with dates against them' said a motivational speaker I once saw - obviously his dreams were a little more pedestrian than mine but you get the idea....

good luck with your recovery

LoBelly

*I had to sell mine after recovery started to take too long so I just cut to chase with other bike riders now ;-)

I would suggest a Topless Housecleaner.

onefastmustang 07-20-2009 05:23 PM

I've gotten my wife to clean the house with no top and her DD's...

Jig-saw puzzles. There are several available on-line that let you use your own pics, select # of pieces etc etc.

Jig-saw puzzle lite is one.
