1)I don't know.About the only thing i can find positive about ol'Dolfy,is he pulled Germany out of financial ruin. That's it.
2)I'll bet it was.
Not even the Catholics liked him:

Do you think Ted has helped our economy?
Hitler was a great speaker, at least that is what I have heard/read. I've heard some of his speaches, but can't understand them, as I don;t speak german.

Teacher and Administrator, she is most remembered for her controversial death in an automobile accident with Senator Edward Kennedy; the resulting political scandal caused Kennedy to reverse his decision to run for the US Presidency. Born in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, she was the only child of insurance salesman Joseph and Gwen Kopechne. After graduating from Caldwell College, New Jersey, she taught at Montgomery Catholic High School in Montgomery, Alabama, and then moved to Washington DC to work as a secretary for Florida Senator George Smathers. Shortly afterwards, she went to work as a secretary for New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy following his election in 1964. After Senator Robert F. Kennedy's death in 1968, she moved to Matt Reese Associates, a Washington DC firm that helped politicians establish campaign headquarters, and it was there she met Senator Edward Kennedy, Robert Kennedy's younger brother.
August 28, 2009
"Edward Klein, speaking to WAMU guest host Katty Kay, said one of Kennedy's 'favorite topics of humor was, indeed, Chappaquiddick.'
"He would ask people, 'Have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?' said Klein, a former Newsweek foreign editor and former editor in chief of the New York Times Magazine."
YouTube video: Kennedy liked to joke about Chappaquiddick?
"This isn't an accusation from Ted Kennedy's political opponents, but a nostalgic remembrance by one of his friends. Ed Klein, former Newsweek editor, tells the Diane Rehm Show:
"I dont know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquiddick itself. And he would ask people, have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick? That is just the most amazing thing. Its not that he didnt feel remorse about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, but that he still always saw the other side of everything and the ridiculous side of things, too."

1)No-hence my reference to AH.
2)AH was one of the greatest orators in history.Having said that, this topic is starting to take a turn off subject.Let's get it back on track. This will help:

It was kind of like being in the "twilight Zone" . I often talk to my patients about any significant past, and in their case, living in/through germany during those times. After I encouraged them to talk alittle, they made various remarks about how the US Government spread alot more propaganda than did Germany, the russian invasion was barbaric, raping german civilians, etc., which I knew already, and how great AH was in running their country, and how terrible everybody else was.
My jaw dropped. I was speechless. There was nothing more to say. They were genuine nazi's. Unbelievable.

He was a prime example as to why there should be term limits.
I won't miss him.

I guess he couldn't swim his way away from the big C. Helluva life guard. He must have done something for his constituants to have held office for so long, but what a sleeze bag! Then there's Marion Barry..What could possibly be in people's minds? I don't think its purely a left-coast thing, but JEEZE!

I will miss him! He was always a good read in the news for whatever "polarizing" reason. An interesting person and an interesting family, good or bad.

No way he would have been denied ANY treatment if and when this health care bill passes with maximum Government control of insurance and allowed or disallowed medical procedures. The "rich and famous" and those who wish to have the very best coverage will still have it, it's not going away, no matter what. That's just another misconception.

I realize that, just an big irony to me that he was voting for a bill that would limit some people to the same treatments he was getting.

I hope he burns in Hell for what he did to Mary Jo - waited something like 9 or 11 hours to call the police, while she drowned - and the Mass. police never did a thing to prosecute him....the man was a failure, and worse, a liberal. Rot in Hell, Teddy!

Makes you stop and wonder if Mary Jo was on his mind all those years and she finally got him back for what he did to her......brain cancer from thinking about it.....I wonder if he had a "SINKING" feeling at the end?
