I smell an Inday car career tanking.

Rick Parker 09-06-2009 01:32 AM

I had heard this earlier, but they gave her thumbs down to the Leather Seats and Power Windows.

Bill Bess 09-06-2009 06:54 AM

We all knew it would happen...but when? I will enjoy watching her tight B*** climbing in and out of her stock car along with all those Danica comercials yet to be developed, but can she win? Will she have to shave her legs during the "Young Gun" commercials while the boys shave their respective faces? The possibilities are unlimited for her in NASCAR. Of course she can always complain along with Kyl Bush everytime something doesn't go her way.

;)

I think she is going to have a hard time adjusting to those heavy cars that have poor brakes compared to what she is used to. I would like to see her do well, but other women haven't lasted long when they tried it. But it will sure be a lot more fun to see her than Kyle Bush.

She might like Rubbin & Racin!

Seagull81 09-06-2009 09:11 AM

Doesn't matter if she wins. She will still make a ton of $$$$$$.

Excaliber 09-06-2009 09:59 AM

Seagull nails it (or, uh, would like to :) ), doesn't matter if she wins. She IS gonna make a TON of money!

Power Surge 09-06-2009 10:06 AM

I think she'll transition into NASCAR fine. The larger cars should be no problem. She won't have to deal with razor sharp turns or intense g-force acceleration like in Indy car. NASCAR should be a cake walk for her once she gets used to driving the car.

As far as switching, why shouldn't she? Nobody cares about Indy here in the US, it's all NASCAR and drag racing. It would be like a US pro soccer player switching to football. Really a no brainer from a career standpoint.

She has the potential to draw alot of money in the beginning, but if she struggles for top tens in the IRL with what, 20-30 drivers...what does she think is going to happen with 45+ cars trying to get into a field of 43 cars where really, there are only a few open slots. She gets enought DNQ or DNFs, and she'll be long gone like so many who've tried in the past. But, I'd love to see her yelling and screaming everytime she gets bumped, pushed or spun by anyone (her going off in the 2008 Indy 500 is a classic Danica moment). Yep, can't wait to see this unfold and collapse.

Cobrabill 09-06-2009 02:54 PM

I need to "alter" my earlier post. This is the beginning of the end of her career.NASBORE might prolong it but she's about done.

THe Anna Kournikova of racing.

Don 09-06-2009 03:24 PM

Danica is 5th in the IRL points, highest of the 4 drivers on the Andretti-Greene race teams:

Seagull81 09-06-2009 03:42 PM

She will be a field filler like Juan Pablo. Just a very rich one.

She has already shown she has a temper and when you mix that with the immaturity of the little pouty boys in NASCAR, it should make for some serious redneck TV entertainment.

I liken her to Michelle Wie in golf; made rich by all the media hype, but ultimately unable to deliver the goods. I'd still hit it though.

Interesting to note, the Ganassi & Penske cars have dominated, winning every race this year except for one win by Dale Coyne Racing at Watkins Glenn.

" After months of investigation, consultation and negotiation, Danica Patrick is staying in the IndyCar Series, AutoWeek has learned. One of the sport's most recognizable names has signed a three-year contract extension with Michael Andretti's team, which she first joined in 2007. She will continue to drive the No. 7 car, likely sponsored by Boost Mobile. "

With the reliability of the media these days, that probably means she has already signed with NASCAR!:3DSMILE:

A speculation published earlier has Danica racing in the ARCA series for a limited number of races, maybe at Daytona, if a top team owner, which could be Dale Jr & Hendrick , and sponsor are available. Pre-race certification at Daytona would be in either Dec or Jan
