Now boys! They forgot by cutting the consumption they also lost the tax on each gallon of gas run out the tail pipe. Duh! It is like the cigarette tax. Cut smoking and you take in less money to the government. Bigger question is why these clowns think they know more then you when it comes to taking care of yourself. Good God! Get the hell out of my life!!
Don't listen to Obama; look at what he does. Wag the tail! Follow the money.....always follow the money.
If you are a lefty you love this guy. If you are a righty you hate him. I am of course an independent so I think most of what he does is stupid. He has surrounded himself with lefty socialist. Congress in general is totally corrupt and it gets worst each year.
The absolute only way to get this country turned around is to get off buying our oil from the Middle East. Period.
Everything else is easy to fix if they just want to do it. Buy insurance across state lines; no pre-existing issues and you make it 70 % better. Live with it awhile and more will come.

I heard his opponent in South Carolina for the up coming election there, received about $200,000 in campaign donations within a day or so of Wilsons gaff. It USED to be considered a tight race, not so much now. Wilson not only screwed himself, he caused significant damage to his party.

See, there is a big part of the problem. You don't even SEE how embarrassing this is for the Republicans? I find that truly amazing.
One BIG example is what I just cited in my previous post. He has impacted his next election in the state of South Carolina in a most profound way. His opponent has gained a boost in ratings and monies. Now just consider what that will mean for the party.

Right on. I was not embarassed in the least. I found my reaction to be similar to that of rooting for Rocky when he was on the ropes.
Excal... nice try.

I have a number of issues with the plan, however, there is nothing in the plan that indicates that illegal immigrants would get any federal health subsidy. It does say that benefits are limited to family members who are citizens or legal residents.
I also got an email from a friend of mine (and I am surprised CdC has not posted it yet:rolleyes:) saying that the bill in section 152 does not allow discriminiation based on citizenship or lack thereof. That is also pure BS - the bill does say that discrimination is not allowed "without regard to personal characteristics", but provides the caveat "Except as otherwise explicitly permitted by this act."
As for Joe Wilson - well, it typifies the mentality of the current crop of right wingers (and some lefties) - including some folks on this forum. You should simply shout down your opponent O'Reilly style rather than actually engage in any sort of debate. Those tactics and people belong on Jerry Springer rather than in Congress. If a Democrat had done that when Bush was in office a lot of you would have been looking to hang him from the nearest tree.

Thats a notable point about radicalism from the left as well, just as frightening.

I tend to find leftie radicals to be rather insidious - very sneaky and underhanded. Rightie radicals tend to be loud and arrogant. Both are usually very hypocritical.

What about when Bush was giving the State of the Union Address, and the Democrats boo'd and shouted "NO" in mass? Did they not show disrespect for the Office of the President?

Steve, shall I YouTube some State of the Union speeches while Bush was in office? Or will you simply say that you were incorrect?
Disrespect of the President during Joint Meetings of Congress has been going on for some time. Don't act like Joe Wilson is a special case or its some right wingers or left wingers.

You "HEARD?" How many times have you dismissed that statement when coming from the right" Who/What is the source of what you "heard?" What is the verification of what you "heard?"
Sounds like a malicious left-wing rumor to me.:p

According to Jessica Santillo of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, since Wilson blurted "You lie!", the campaign coffers of Rob Miller, who is challenging him in 2010, swelled by $700,000.
The contributions, she said, came in from 20,000 individual contributions. It's not clear whether the people who made the donations live in South Carolina.

Actually, they are all reliable sources. It just takes some smarts to filter out the bias, either way.

But how much will Miller have to give back due to them being illegal contributions (whoops he's a Democrat and probably won't have to give it back). How many credit cards in how many different names does George Soros have anyway? :JEKYLHYDE
