Clueless Twit - Mrs. O

What not to wear to a Medal of Honor award ceremony
"You might think a posthumous Medal of Honor award ceremony would be a somber occasion, but not everyone would agree with you. Either this is an especially skillful photo shop effort or Michelle Obama has no clue whatsoever about the nature of this event."

why...thank you, Mr. Blackwell.

Tommy 09-21-2009 10:25 AM

And those shoes! What was she thinking? Everyone knows you wear red shoes with that outfit. ;)

VRM 09-21-2009 10:40 AM

Are we this desperate to make Obama look bad?

I am constantly amazed at the stuff that slid by the right wingers when Bush was in the White House that suddenly seems to be the most important national issue now.

It's really very sad in a very funny sort of way.:rolleyes:

I don't think it's a right-wing thing at all. Mr. Fred has taken a fancy to fashion.

Don't discourage him ... I can't wait for his critique of the Red Carpet fashions at the Emmys last night.

:p

Excaliber 09-21-2009 11:06 AM

Indeed, it's about time we got a little culture around here. Kudo's to our new Fashion Editor Commentator. :)

Y'all didn't say how you felt about her inappropriate dress to a solemn ceremony for a fallen soldier so I'm going to assume you found it appropriate.

Excaliber 09-21-2009 11:56 AM

I'm lucky if I can find a matching pair of flip flops in the morning... :)

I didn't...

Maricopa 09-21-2009 02:55 PM

Why not? It's obviously some sort of new camouflage (FTF). Seems perfectly appropo....

Fordzilla 09-21-2009 03:29 PM

I don't find it funny or appropriate

Sharroll Celby 09-21-2009 05:01 PM

I think she should have worn something in a darker color, maybe a black or blue suit/dress.

BeanCounter 09-21-2009 08:39 PM

If I had been the young man's father I would have politely asked her to leave.

First we are not at all desperate to make him look bad, he is doing a fine job in that area all by himself.

What exactly slid by when Bush was President?

Maybe if it had been a community organizer she would be more respectful, but since it was just one of our brave soldiers what the heck.Party on Garth.

Bill Bess 09-22-2009 06:44 AM

Big deal, so she wore her dancin outfit to make Mr. O a little more Up-beat, after all he's got nothin to be happy about so far.
It's just more "Tacky actions" by our President...being disrespectful and all.

Paul F 09-22-2009 08:46 AM

Read this with a limp wrist.

I have to agree that the dress does appear out of sorts for this event, but then I think she may have conferred with the mother of Jared, as Jared's mother wore a pink outfit. (See the video. The mother is the only color in a sea of black).

Read this without a limp wrist.

Come on guys. This is a site about cars with big V8s in them. Take this stuff over to the Ellen Degeneres Show or The View.

bomelia 09-22-2009 09:11 AM

Thanks Paul, I feel appropriately chastized.

What concerns me is their actions, including dress, here and abroad. We do have and have had protocol professionals in out Gov. They have made careers from knowing how to act, how to dress, and what to say, in every ceremony, domestic and foreign.
In light of the NUMEROUS and ridiculous blunders made by obummer overseas, he [and she] obviously either never check with protocol people or they ignore them.
It might be because the bulk of those people work in the Dept. of State and since the Secretary job was a throwaway pay off to the Clintons. The State Dept., along with the Clintons will be ignored until the second term. If he gets a 2nd term, he will 86 Hillary, figuring the Clinton influence will be long passed by then.

Excaliber 09-22-2009 03:04 PM

I guess I must have missed the bulk of those "numerous" over seas blunders. Every POTUS we ever had has made them, they are human after all.

Not being a fashion expert I really don't see what all the fuss is about. The guys Mother wore a pink dress and stood out in a field of dark clothing. I'd hate to ridicule her for her choice of clothing...

392cobra 09-22-2009 03:57 PM

I'm thinking she just likes to celebrate Halloween year round.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.Just sayin'.
