Default Help with car ID

I'm looking at a '67 Cobra and have several questions: The car is listed as a "Shell Valley" Cobra but the MFG. tag says "Shelby American, Inc.." I know Shelby American, Inc. moved from Los Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, Nevada but what affiliation if any do they have with Shell Valley?
The car also has a 390 cu. in. and a 4-speed. Haven't seen too many 4-speeds and wondered why.
ANY help and info would be greatly appreciated.

I looked through the Shell Valley Classic Wheels Inc website, and nowhere is there any mention of Shelby American Inc. You would think that, if they were licensed by Shelby, they'd be eager to mention that on their site. It's a mystery that the manufacturers tag reads "Shelby American, Inc". I can't explain it.

Default I.d.???

Checked again and the ad specifically says Shell Valley. It's listed with buyavette.net. I'll call them tomorrow and ask about it.
Anybody have a comment on the 4-speed?

It would be a Shell valley. The tag is fake, readily available at the various cobra accessory stores. Stamp any info you want in the blank spaces.
I have a Kirkham, but in attached an "AC" data plate on it. Why ? Just to mess with some people's minds !! Part of the fun of owning one of these cars.
390 cu. in.? Cheap way to go period correct ford big block. Can be built to 500+ hp. 4 speed? again, least expensive tranny for a cobra.

Shell Valley has NO affiliation with "Shelby American", anyone can buy a "Shelby" vin plate at any number of places and bolt/rivet it on to their car. How one feels about it is entirely up to them...I am perfectly fine with people looking at the one in my car that says Contemporary Classics and knowing the car is a fake

As for the 4 speed, the originals came with one, my replica has one, most of the people trying to make a "real" faithful replica have one....on the other hand, I wish mine was a 5 speed, and the one thing the purist's seem to be willing to avert their eyes from and (sometimes begrudgingly) accept is a 5 speed transmission, if for no other reason than it makes sense....

edit: Motorhead beat me to it.
