The car in picture is the "Teakettle Special" built by John McCann using a MG TD chassis with a Mistral fiberglass body. Engine was a small block chevy. The car was named for it's propensity to overheat, it was raced in the early 60's. You are correct in the fact of it being used as a stand in for the 427 Cobra Elvis drove into a pond in the movie Spinout. |
