It sure has been. The scene has changed a lot in the last year...

Phil moved to Hawaii
Bob sold his car
etc.

My wife and I would love to join you. Northwest CT is always a pretty run. Litchfield, Goshen, Lakeville area. Let us know.

I will look at the dates and get something posted. It seems like the standard route we took last year is perfect. Unless people want to mix it up and make a run around Essex?

Is anyone interested in taking the drive out to Bear Mountain for this?

Cashburn 09-10-2011 09:24 AM

Here's the route I'd like to take:

110 Republic Dr, North Haven, CT 06473 to Republic Dr - Google Maps

We would have 3 meeting points (1 at our shop, 1 at Danbury Fair Mall Parking Lot, 1 at Bear Mountain State Park) You can meet up at any of them and take off when you like.

We just have to coordinate who is going to leave at what point. I can make vinyl stickers for everyone to put on their car with the letter of the last stop they are going to?

Dates under consideration:

Sept 24th (rain date 25th)
Oct 15th (rain date 16th)

Here's a shot of Storm King Highway:

i had hoped this would be the year..perhaps next

Cashburn 09-10-2011 08:06 PM

Think the Sept date affords more daylight and warmer temps. Let's lock in Sept and run the bear mt option ok?

I may need a ride though... Unless we can build something in 2 weeks?

SJK2 09-11-2011 06:54 AM

Nice looking route and Sept. is fine for us........

Cashburn 09-12-2011 12:49 PM

Sorry, have to use the October date for a few guys. I will start a new thread with all the concrete details very soon. I also thought it was too short notice for the September dates...

Hope to get a nice turnout this year to keep the tradition going.

We had a great time last year and would love to go this year no matter what the date or route is pending that I have my car back in time for the ride that is. Fingers are still crossed!

Yeah, moved it to the October date for you as well. It has to work by then ;)

I like your thinking!

Newburgh

Jay,
When you go thru Newburgh (after New Windsor), go down along the river, much nicer than thru the center of town, there are also some nice restaurants along the river there,
Carl

Concern was a lot of traffic lights? Isn't 9W a quicker shot? I know the road you mean, it's only stop signs or ???

Carl Johnson 09-13-2011 06:00 AM

it's only a few stop signs and then puts you back out right at I84, the center of town is full of road construction. I was there Sat at West Pt for the football game.
