Official 2012 Fall Sprint Details
UPDATE: SUNDAY DRIVE PORTION IS CANCELLED - DETAILS BELOW
2012 FALL SPRINT OCTOBER 13TH & OCTOBER 14TH, 2011 2 DAYS, 300 MILES, AND PLENTY OF COBRAS FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/events/522236514459828/ The time has come again, to get everyone together for a couple drives before we put them up for the season. There's going to be some new features to this year's event and we are bringing back some parts of the original get-togethers. One very important element of the Fall Sprint we want to emphasize: This is all about having fun and getting together with owner's of ALL MAKES and BRANDS of Cobra replicas. Here's what is new for 2012... As long as the weather cooperates this year we are planning 2 days of driving. We are going to return to our Litchfield County Route for Saturday and just as last year we are going to make a run around Bear Mountain NY on Sunday (with an open Storm King Highway this time). We also request that people who are planning to participate in the drive send us an RSVP to sales@revolocityinc.com so we can plan properly. In your RSVP email please include:
This year we also will require that all participants sign a waiver of liability, welcome to our new law firm on retainer reality... We have hired a shuttle service and ask that anyone booking hotels at this point use one of the following: Hilton Garden Inn, Milford, CT Milford Hotels | Hilton Garden Inn Milford | Milford, CT Hyatt Place, Milford, CT Milford CT Hotel, Hyatt Place WEATHER CONCERNS: If for any reason we have to cancel Saturday due to rain, we still would like to invite people to the After Party. We are going to be hiring an "expert" to take car of that and will simply have too much food etc. if no one shows. If you are here from out of town and it rains out we plan to shuttle everyone up to On Track Karting for some tire to tire and we will also have an informal focus group of Backdraft owners to help on some market research and new product development. In the event Saturday is cancelled then we will cover the Litchfield County route on Sunday instead. Since it is a shorter route we have more flexibility in start and end times to work around any lingering weather. Finally if we get 2 wash outs we will be drinking keg beer, lots of it and perhaps a group project getting our new Track Day car going. This announcement will be edited to reflect any new details or updates up until the morning of the drive. We already have participants confirmed from PA, NH, KY, and even TX. This should be our biggest turn out yet. Thanks to everyone and we look forward to seeing you on the 13th and 14th. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RSVP IF YOU INTEND TO GO - WE UNDERSTAND IF WEATHER CHANGES YOUR PLAN BUT WE NEED TO PLAN TOO. |
We got the footage from 2011 into a long form video, check it out: 2011 Cobra Fall Sprint - YouTube

Saturday drive will wrap up at our facility around 3pm with a catered event (just finalizing that). Sunday will likely start earlier if we can and will go a little later than Saturday because of the distance. If for some reason there is rain out on Saturday we are still going to have the party at 3pm and we invite everyone to join us regardless. It will be worth attending... Let's hope for 2 spectacular days. |
Coming up from SC - can't wait to meet everyone. Going to be a great time. Thanks for putting this together Jay!
|
We are going to delay start time Saturday due to temp. Will edit above schedule when finalize the change. It's going to be a cold start...

Update: Sunday drive portion is CANCELLED
We've got some mixed weather forecasts for Sunday. More importantly we had an excellent group drive today but dealing with the temps took a lot out of those on the drive today. So we are going to have a group gathering at the shop at noon to do some service on the cars that need it. We've got enough food leftover for 80 people so anyone who wants to swing by, please do. Sorry everyone. We learned some lessons this year and will be holding the event earlier in the season. Please if you have friends etc. that you know were planning to join make sure they are aware. |
Jay - we had a blast! Big thank you to the whole VMS crew!

Thank You!
To Jay, Brian and the whole VMS Team:
Thank you for putting together yet again another wonderful Fall Foliage Run! Wendy (aka the Unibomber) and I had an awesome time. The route was scenic as always and despite mother natures attempts, the exhilaration (and a full length body coat) kept us warm . The "after party" pig roast was excellent! OMG, hope you guys are hungry for the rest of the week! Can't wait to see what next year brings. Keep up the great work! FattyD:D |
Jay, Brian, and the others at VMS:
Thank you so much for organizing our Fall Sprint. My wife and I had a great time on the drive and talking with other owners (Backdraft and others). I think we will have this on our calenders going forward, maybe September next year (hint, hint). As always, you guys did a great job. Can't wait until next year. |
Fall Run
Thanks Jay , Brian & the Vintage Motorsports team !
Once again you guys put on another great event . The shop & showroom look amazing. Love the new track car ! It was great to see everyone again and meet some new people as well. The ride , route and foliage were awesome!Great job on the after party as well , what a spread :D Rick |
Thanks to everyone at Revolocity and Vintage Motorsports for hosting and coordinating a fantastic drive and party (this was a team effort). The drive was exhilerating (in more ways than one) and the food was excellent! Good thing we had the heated seats completed a few weeks ago! They made a huge difference! Already looking forward to next year as Mary and I had a blast and it was great to meet so many other cobral owners (all makes).
On another note: 240 rather spirited miles (including to and from the shop), 13 gallons! Julian |
Anyone who has photos or video, please let me know. We are creating a place to dump all the footage people have so our video editing crew can access and use it AND we have the opportunity to get coverage in Kit Car Builder magazine.
For the magazine I need photos ASAP to meet the deadline. |
