SAAC Show at Lime Rock
September 1st (Sunday) is the SAAC Show of Shelbys at Lime Rock. This is an annual event which welcomes Cobras, Mustangs and other high performance Fords. It's held on the track between turns 1 and 4. The main straight is used by other clubs featuring vintage autos. If you live in southren Connecticut half the fun is getting there since many of the access roads are made for high performance cars.
Is anyone out there going (assuming good weather)? Bob |

Bob,
I plan on going up all three days and with the Cobra for the Sunday event. It was a great weekend last year and the car show was just one of the highlights. Stu |
I'm planning on being there Sunday only.

Just to let you know the cutoff for show cars is 1985 I called today and that was the word . Not that it matters to most on the site with cobras I was going to go with my 01 roush mustang but I not sure seeing I can't enter.

You have bad information! The show is open to all high performance Fords. There is no year restriction. Lime Rock has 2 or 3 shows going on that day! You called the wrong people. The info on the SAAC (Shelby American Automobile Club) can be found at www.saac.com, or by calling Carl Gagnon at 860-623-1366 or by e-mailing Carl at saacner@earthlink.net. The cost is admission to the track ($10, $5 with AAA card or advanced sale) and $3.00 or so for admission to the SAAC event. I'm not sure how the classes will be assigned. I go mostly for the ride there and back and to check out all the various cars. Hope to see you all there. I've got the silver and black Superformance. Come over and say hi, I'll be in turn #2. Bob |
Thanks bob I will make the call even if the say no I might take the drive anway. :3DSMILE:

Bob,
I see that the car show is 10 am- 2 pm. Is that also for the show of shelby's? What time do you plan on showing up? Stu |
Bob,
He's a dumb question: Is there an entrance fee for the cars in the show? I purchased the regular tickets on-line, but didn't catch anything about the show cars. |
Hey Guys:
I plan on getting there about 9 (assuming good weather). I don't remember last year that well but there is probably a charge by the track and one by SAAC (small) for the show. If you have a AAA card it's $5.00 off the entrance fee. Is anyone going up Route 8? Bob |
I'll be driving in from Rocky Hill.
I think my route is to take rt. 44 to 4 |
ahh once again my good plans are laid to waste.
The cobra is dead. I will not make this year. Just like last year, I will just have to wait till next year. Hope everyone has a good time. |
So far cloudy w/ PM showers predicted for tomorrow. Hopefully that will change.
Heading up there to watch the qualifying races today. Stu |

Was a salvageable show some real nice shelby mustangs there.I took 3rd place w/my roush stage II.I was hopeing to get a look at some nice cobras but they started to leave when the skies started to fill up with rain clouds, to bad .They accelerated the awards ceremony due to weather and was barely even a couple of drops by the time I left but hit a downpour half way between lee and wesfield on the pike then cleared by springfield, oh well always next year.

Hey mln385:
Congrats! How many Cobras were there? How many Mustangs? I'll be there tomorrow (rain or shine) sitting on the outfield hill. I'll have an "SPF642" sign attached to my chair. If you're there say Hello. Bob |
Went to Lime Rock today it was a blast, cars were great, weather could have been a bit better. I had only a couple drops fall on my, but it was fun!
