Sat. 5/5 Gathering and Cruise to Marcus Dairy

Would like to get together this Saturday May 5th and perhaps do a drive together down to Marcus Dairy in Danbury, CT. Loose plan would be to start arriving at Vintage in Wallingford at 2pm and depart as a group to Marcus Dairy around or before 4pm so we can arrive there for 5pm timeframe.

Of course weather permitting but all looks good at the moment.

Please advise if you can make it and if you have an open seat for anyone looking for ride-alongs.

Look forward to 2 get togethers a month if everyone else is into it.

My ERA 427 will be ready to roll in about two/three months. I'm about five miles from you (just up the hill from the airport) and would love to drop by when I'm up 'n runnin'. Any problem with me driving an ERA(my daily is a BMW M3)?

Wish i could join you. Will be in Virginia beach. And thanks again to Brian for finding that dam squeak today that drove me nuts. Needed a second ear in passenger seat to find it. Again two great guys who go the extra step to help you.

Be glad to meet you guy's from up north!

I'll be there from South Salem N.Y, Next door to Ridgefield C.T. Any reason to drive on a nice evening sounds good.

I (we) would rather do this ride during June or July when the sunset would be much later and air temps would be warmer (return trip in mind). That being said, what is the planned route? We could maybe meet the group along the way. I usually go up either 34 or 25 from the Milford area, catch 84 west and hit 7 from there.

We plan to go 15 South, catch 34 and run that over the damn dam, and from there I-84 to Marcus.

I though SPF had standard tops and heaters? :)

Bob In Ct 04-30-2007 08:12 PM

My top is still in the box it came in (I think), and the heater only works when the top is on. Actually, I really hate driving the ol snake at night. I feel really at risk.

Gee....I won't be able to make it this weekend. However keep up the invites I'll certainly attend when time and schedules permit. Also I appreciate your efforts to bring Cobra enthusiasts together here in CT. Love to see your facilities and cars somtime too. See ya soon!!

Cashburn 05-01-2007 06:46 AM

If it means more of a turnout we can repeat the last get together and join up earlier in the day and then do a little longer drive in the afternoon. It is projected to be a little cool in the evening so I can understand the reluctance to make the return trip in the cooler temps.

In any event it would be good to get some cars together again for some group drive time.

If weather permits, W and I should be up for a cruise. This past weekend the weather was just toooo "ify" for a drive. The earlier gather would probably work better for me as well. Keep me in the loop regardless. Would like to hook up as I'm screwed with Saturday commitments after this weekend until June.:MECOOL:

Ahh come on guys, a little cool??????????????

I've driven my snake in Dec and January this year at night too. I'll drive down to 35-39 degrees or so and the heat doeas keep the tootsies warm even without the top.

Hi Jay, I would definitly go but my car may not be available . Sorry. Look forward to more meets and rides throughout the season

Hey guys I wouild love to join you. I am just over the border in North Salem NY. This will be my first outing since I finished my build. Is the plan to just meet at Marcus' and just hang out?

Cashburn 05-02-2007 06:56 PM

I think the consensus is to wait on the Marcus cruise until we have more sunlight and some warmer temps. I want to keep it light so we are going to stick to the usual formula of a get together at our shop at noon on Saturday. I'll fire the grill again at 1pm and then we can try and get a nice run in around 2pm - 3:30pm or so.

Plenty of summer to work the longer runs in. Would be good to just get the headcount up.

Free T-Shirts to the longest driver on Saturday.

Sounds like a plan, we'll bring dessert. The weather is supposed to be terrific.

Fattyd 05-04-2007 01:30 PM

Nice Shirt!!! I'll head up to RI in the AM and turn around. Does that count? See what you started Jay... Ha ha. Sounds like a great time. Is there anything you need or I can bring? Looking forward to seeing everyone.:D :D :D

Cashburn 05-04-2007 01:32 PM

Bring your appetite. I just picked up some burgers and dogs. Oh yeah bring chairs if you want to sit. I'll put the canopy out etc.

If everyone could plan to meet up here at noon, I'll fire the grill for 1pm.

Then we do the drive.

SJK2 05-04-2007 01:36 PM

Sounds like a deal......
