Thanks to Jay and Vintage Motorsports for organizing a great run.

SKJ2. We lost you guys at the end. The last half dozen cars stopped at the covered bridge but we didn't see anyone.
Where did you find the airplane?

Today's run through western Connecticut was -

A) Brisk
B) Scenic
C) A great ride
D) All of the above

Thanks to the guys at Vintage for putting it together, to Rick and the Vintage guys (Jay, Brian & Ed) for picking up the lunch tab, and to Bobby for making the trip from Long Island to join us. I don't ever remember Route 63 (above Goshen) being so wide open for the whole distance. The scenery going down the upper part of Route 7 was terrific! Where were all the cops today?

Thanks to everyone for a great time.

Bob & Noreen

Yes, thanks again to the Vintage folks for a great ride and lunch. We hustled out of lunch so fast, we didn't get time to thank you all. Great ride afterward. We drove down to the bridge and then a little further south before heading back. Nice day. Chills and all. My wife was happy with the new electric blanket as well. It worked great. Todd, good to see you again. Ed, it was very nice meeting you today.

Thank you all. We can only make a little suggestion and hope people show up... you did, and it was great. Will have some momentum now for the spring.

Steve got the shots we wanted to wrap up with. Too bad they did not finish the road up to the air field or we had a great group photo op...

We learned some lessons on how to make it work and what would work better.

Funny part was as nice as the roads up north were, the best scenery was on the trek down 67 to 133 to 25 ... leaves were full color about to drop and that bridge over Lake Lilanona was spectacular.

Poor Will got behind the wrong group and I spoke to him around 4:30 and he was in Southbury (keep in mind he lives in NYC). So I keep checking in with him.

I anyone has photos they can put on a CD and mail it over to me at the shop I would love to get them on our Photo Gallery.

Oh, and today was the day to sell the wife on the coupe or GT idea :)

ZOERA-SC7XX 10-19-2008 06:15 PM

Gonna try to post or link some pics from the run. If they don't come up, check my gallery on page one.

One suggestion I have is to allow for better staging of photos, with a stop at a scenic place specifically chosen for that purpose. I love that airplane background, that was a nice shot, but the group was split up by that time. If Will comes again, he should hang with the Greenwich crowd, since they are headed in the direction he wants to go.

It looks like you guys had a great time!! Too bad I couldn't join you for the fun. Hope to see some of you for the breakfast in NH in a couple of weeks or perhaps the SEMA event at FFR.:D

Somehow, communication got botched up late in the run. I thought the lead pack would be driving down to the Cornwall bridge. I had no idea where the car/air show was after we left the bridge...we were probably only five/ten minutes behind.
Jay. I got a bunch of pics (uploading to my Fotki album now). If I'm able, I'll burn the lot for you.

Trueoo7 10-19-2008 06:48 PM

Unfortunately I lost you guys after lunch at the one lane bridge that was under construction. By the time I got across there was no one to be found. Headed south for aways and then decided to call it a day. It was nice meeting all of you, thanks for the lunch Jay.

Cashburn 10-19-2008 07:00 PM

Well, we broke "the rules" and skipped the Cornwall Bridge stop after realizing there is a West Cornwall Bridge AND a Cornwall Bridge... sorry about that.

Next time the meal is at the end... that botched it up.

HAPPY SNAKE 10-20-2008 03:36 AM

Ah ha, now we figured out where the front group ended up. Nice ride anyway. Will, it was great meeting you yesterday. Hopefully you didn't make it home too late. Here are a few more pics. Pay no attention to the "Corba" typo. :JEKYLHYDE

Spoke to Will last night. He made it home around 7pm. I was still driving the Cobra at 5:30 so I don't envy his final hour of driving. But he loved it.

Wish we made it through the bridge, that looked great.

mln385 10-20-2008 09:57 AM

Marc

We say that every year, and we usually get a nice day in Dec and Jan to zip around a little. Well, I've got 5 cars to build/test drive before end of year so the UA was a good investment.
