You have created a ruckus.

Excaliber 09-17-2009 07:31 PM

Eh Eh, Lloyd stirred up a fun little hornets nest. :)

Cashburn 09-17-2009 07:51 PM

Lloyd, your name is not Lloyd... :)

lloyds1 09-17-2009 11:04 PM

My name is Dave Lloyds and I now own a Cobra!

You guys are hilarious!

Well I bought a SPF today with a Roush/Yates Nascar Cup engine in it. I did this for a few reasons.

1.After speaking with the guys who built the engine at Roush/Yates I realized how cool and unique the engine is. It was custom built for the owner of a company that supplies pistons for their race program. You cant just call them and order this engine. They were super excited about it and said it would be fun, fast and reliable.

2. My friend owns and races one of the GT40s in the American Le Mans Series and swears by the Roush/Yates guys. He said his race engine was very reliable.

3. I spoke with Dennis Olthoff who knows the car and he said it was a good car.

4. I wanted a really fast car that can scare me and my friends.

5. Bragging rights (its fun telling people it has a Nascar engine in it).

6. No one I spoke with had anything bad to say about SPF.

7. It sounds mean and nasty.

8. If I'm going to be irresponsible and buy a totally impractical car, I might as well go all the way.

I hope it is fun and reliable. Only time will tell. I know it is a total crap shoot.

That being said, I really liked the BD cars (especially the "Heritage Edition" that jay built) and the ERAs as well.

Is it this one?

RodKnock -- interesting ad, notice the 2 different sets of wheels.

Let's talk SPF when you have a chance. 419.376.2585 Poisonsnake

Yup, that is the one. It came with both sets of wheels too.

From the ad:
Engine can be revved over 9000RPM... Engine will make approximately 725HP... Car weighs 2450lbs...it must be respected or it will bite you.
Ya think?

For some unknown reason I remembered a Cobra with the Roush Yates connection being on eBay. I believe its been on eBay several times. At any rate, congratulations and best of luck.

lloyds1 09-18-2009 08:00 AM

Yeah, it has been on several times. Good time for buyers right now, not so good for sellers.

Congrats Lloyd! Let us know when you are available to do some road work.

Also, let us know how it goes in Weathersfield. Have all your paperwork and all your receipts (engine, xmission, rearend). Be sure the sidepipes are covered and the Ebrake works. Good luck!

Nice car (and VERY nice motor!). Have watched it on eBay a couple of times.

The fuel system hoses are as big as my heater hoses :JEKYLHYDE

Be sure to get hooked up with the Superformance group (SCOF) after the car is in your possesion. There is another great bunch of people there, and an INVALUABLE source of info on the cars.

Welcome aboard!

Plus, you get a secret decoder ring when you join! :)

...I couldn't resist.

ZOERA-SC7XX 09-18-2009 06:19 PM

Nice car, congrats. I hope it runs as good at slow in-traffic speeds as it will when you open it up.

Excaliber 09-18-2009 06:35 PM

Good point ZOERA, I wonder about that myself. How the "street ability" will really be? It get's to be a pain having to run octane boosters and search for high octane race gas all the time. Man that is one awesome motor though!

lloyds1 09-19-2009 10:01 AM

The timing is set up for 93 octane pump gas. 677hp on pump about 80hp more on race fuel. Something tells me 677hp will be adaquate:LOL:
