You should have addressed your question to Turk, rather than quoting someone else in an open forum. My mistake.

Sorry this took so long to get back to you, but I can't make any sense of your last posting.

and not to worry, it's not your first mistake and I'm sure it won't be your last........;)

LURK 01-20-2004 05:45 PM

You said that if you had wanted an answer to your question about how many people were waiting for cars, you would have asked Turk. My reply was simply that your question was not addressed to him.

My second mistake apparently is answering YOUR question. :)

not coffee break, it controls me.I know what a Cobra is.
Ive followed cobras from the time I was 16.(1966)Being from salt lake I didnt have much of a chance to see any.Ive been to Kirkhams 2 times and shelby 1 (disapointing time) time.I find it amazining that the three cars I admire most are being produced again.Im a cobra potato because all these cars are colleter items.Kirkham cars are a work of art. That is the cloest I ever came to one.(Those boys are ok.)They showed me around before they were a big concern.I was in heaven all the next week.Im affraid that is the only owning I will do.We built P51s in America why cant we do the same with Cobras.Maybe I should shutup and look stupid then open my mouth and remove all dought.Lets hold back production to keep the price up ok.Shelby shouldnt be part of this deal they are KIT CARS TO HIM.Lets hurry before I die.

Cobra Potato,

I assume you make your money in writing English Literature and teaching grammar on the side?

oh man......

Terry. Is that you again?:3DSMILE:

TURK

TerrysSPF 01-20-2004 10:23 PM

........NO WAY, Turk. .......I'm stayin' out of THIS! I'm just gonna "watch" for awhile when it comes to Shelby threads. Too many cooks in the kitchen...........and the more you watch them, the more it looks like they shouldn't be cooking!
If people have FACTS, then let's hear 'em. If not.......go back to culinary school until you "graduate".

BlueRooster 01-21-2004 04:12 AM

Wow...thats amazining!

cobra potato 01-21-2004 05:22 AM

What a bunch of arragant (sp)snobs. Now you need to pass an english test to buy a Cobra.Thats the treatment I felt at the Shelby store in Vegas.Oh well Thanks for the fine support anyway.Im going to go kick horse turds.

lewismc 01-21-2004 05:34 AM

It's posterity! And you shouldn't make fun of others. It's not nice.

Thorin 01-21-2004 08:19 PM

Mr. Potatoe

Don't leave. If you check back on Turk's old posts, you will find he had the same experience with his first visit to the Shelby store, and look at him now.

Its mostly a dream anyway. The wife says it just another car.Lets keep the production down and make it nessasary to have one.ie diamonds.I have to much money and my wife is to pretty and my car has to much power.I must be to smart because everyone asks me questions.I know Im to old.I think I will give it all back.A case of coors and pretty girl friend is my goal.lets not forget Ameicans made this car famous.Thats what I am .

cobra potato 01-25-2004 08:33 AM

how many aluminum cobra replicas are there? How many are made each year?I see ACCARS is now producing cars (frame and body) for shelby at 50 a year.Where on this forum is anything about them?50 a year will keep the price up.

Excaliber 01-25-2004 09:30 AM

I'm sure the (former?) CAV (now just South Africa?) cars are ONLY glass, not aluminium (spelling for the Wilfer).

Ernie

cobra potato 01-25-2004 06:09 PM

I got a email letter from accarsuk.com (2 days ago)dated 17 nov to this fact.Computer illiterate as I am Its PDF file so it stays there forever.I cant find anything on this forum to say anything about accars. They are still there and very much into the same thing.

Excaliber 01-25-2004 06:31 PM

AC cars ARE aluminium

,,South Africa Shelby cars are not. Some mainland built Shelby cars can be either.

AC cars are NOT Shelby cars (by the way), but there are pretty good replicas. :D

....then there was that rumor about Shelby building cars in Malta? Don't know glass or alloy on that one!

Ernie

cobra potato 01-25-2004 06:41 PM

1 PDF is from accars the other CSI and they state the same thing. It is minimized right now as Im writeing. They are doing corbon fibre in malta and aluminum in the origanal place with the origanal bucks.Do you think Im makeing this up as I go.

misfit41 01-25-2004 08:25 PM

I dig CSI,all reruns lately though.,,just like this thread,,Tim

Excaliber 01-25-2004 08:41 PM

Making this up????

Not at all!

AC, South Africa, Malta, Las Vegas, the UK (and WHO really owns WHAT in the UK!) the "Kirkham" connection to it all,,,,,,,, have been discussed here for a LONG while in many different threads. Some VERY heated conversations at that!

Lot's of "rumors", some facts, plenty of confusion! Absolute "proof" for various "speculative" points have been offered! As often as the "proof" has held, it has also been shot down! No doubt you DO have a PDF that lays it all out. But what does it all mean, "really"? Game plans and "players" change almost weekly! It seems the only constant in the current market has been "change".

Heck it was only a couple of weeks ago the "rumor" that CAV had been "sold" was in fact confirmed! Many assumed this meant the end of any South African Shelby Cobras! BUT WAIT, theres more!! Oh yeah,,,,,theres LOT'S more, we certainly have not heard the rest of the story yet! There ARE South Africa Shelby Cobras coming soon (I'm pretty sure, :D ).

As for Malta? Rumor has it,,,,,,,,,and thats about all ANYBODY know for sure at this point! Various "press release's" have been notoriously misleading (if not down right wrong)!

Ernie

This UK connection is extremely complex! The owner of Super Performance did INDEED buy "something" related to AC cars. Now it seems that Shelby ALSO really did! So,,,,,,uh,,,,,,who onws what and where are they makeing them,,,,,again??
