As you all know, Bob Johnson of Shelby racing fame (as well as other marks!) is joining us at the London Cobra Show. Saturday nights 'one on one' with Bob back at the hotels is certainly a 'can't miss' event. But now, more are joining the crowd and this is turning into a regular Bob Johnson roast!
Peter Brock, JP and Frank all met up at Mid-Ohio this past weekend. Peter was kind enough to record on video about Bob and the Shelby days. Peter would have loved to join us in London this year but we just got to him after his schedule was already filled (Pikes Peak I beleive). But now next year........
Peter's video will be played for Bob and for the participants on Saturday night. Should be very entertaining. And don't tell Bob, it is a suprise!
We are in contact with a number of the other racing greats from the team and we are looking for involvement in one way or another this year and hopefully finding an opening in their schedule next year! We would love to have a reunion of sorts for them next year. And from what I am hearing, they are pretty excited about the idea themselves!
My appologies up front on this one, I don't have the gentlemans name in front of me, but the curator of the museum that owns Bob's Coupe, Cobra and Vette is coming to 'MC' the event. He had hoped the cars would be finished being restored and he could bring them to reunite Bob with his cars but they will not be done in time. We are really happy to have him join us and help us all learn and relive some of racing all time glory days.
