Of course Justin! How could we NOT partake in this? We were literally "glowing" for weeks after the last one! Count Debbie and I in for sure.

Hi Justin, this is Michele Sweet. I have 2 media contacts so far - Good Day Sacramento and Fox 40, someone in my office is giving me more tomorrow. The Good Day Sacramento contact is Ashley Williams, she is the weekend coordinator. Her e-mail address is anwilliams@kmaxtv.com. The contact at Fox 40 News is Natalie Bomkie and her e-mail address is Natalie.Bomke@fox40.com. They know my company - Warren G. Bender Co. (Marcie Rice) from some blood drives they have reported on. I thought you might want to be the one to contact them as you are organizing this. I think it would be great publicity for these organizations to have the news there. Oh and I am pretty sure Ed and I will be attending and will be bringing toys (let's pray for sunny skies). :) If you have any other questions you can contact me at mesport@comcast.net.

Steve Courtwright is in for 2 people and 4 gifts.

Hoof Hearted 12-08-2009 11:40 AM

Great response so far!

Initial counts are as follows:
People: 24
Toys: more than 40, goal is 116
Cars: 13

Thanks everyone for your amazing generosity in doing 2 drop-offs this year. Sutter has around 56 beds and the shelter has atleast 60 kids so that brings our goal for toys to 116. I'm gonna go pick up some more DVDs at Walmart.

Lets hope for sunny days ahead!

Justin

Sounds good.

2 more with 4 toys.

Just did one last Saturday for Shriners Hospital.

Justin,
Thank you for getting this put together again so that we can make a small difference. The contribution of our club is overwhelming.
I will do my best to be a part of this for the children. Unfortunately, I have been going through some difficult times in losing my sister in late Sept and now my wife, Carol just last month on November 25th. I know that being with you people can be good therapy for me and I will make the effort to see you all. If not, I hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
Gary

Wow Gary...just wow. So sorry for your loss.

Hope you can make it. Doing service for others is a sure way to bring even a little peace to a broken heart. And the toy drive wouldn't be the same without you. :D

We love you bro and we are here for you if you need anything. Call anytime.

May God bless you and your family,
Justin

Gary,

Very sorry to hear of your lost. I know your wife fought a tough battle.

Hope you can make it. It'll be great therapy to get out with the gang.

Danny

Gary my friend,

It made my day to see your call sign on hopes you would be there again and then it broke my heart to hear about your loss.

Please come by for the ride, or give a call

Maurice

Ps, That was me in the red Ford tooting at you last for speeding on Arden Way

pgermond 12-11-2009 02:33 PM

Gary,

Ditto what has been said. Like Maurice, when I saw "r8rvenm" I was hoping to see you, but had no idea what was going on in your life. You have a lot of friends, so just reach out. We're here if you need us.

Igofastr 12-14-2009 08:40 AM

I'm in for sure. Several toys.

azariah2000 12-14-2009 01:16 PM

Justin,

You can count Gina and I there this year. 2 people and 4 toys

Hoof Hearted 12-15-2009 07:40 AM

Brian Holbrook from Elk Grove is in as well.

Hoof Hearted 12-15-2009 08:08 AM

So far it looks like the weather is on our side. Forecasts show Saturday as being cloudy/sunny with only a 10% chance of rain and no rain predicted the day before or after. So we may luck out again this year!

Current counts are as follows:
People: 30
Toys: 60+ (goal is 116. Please consider giving 1 or 2 more if you can so we have enough for both drops. :) )
Cars: 17

Thanks again everybody for your generosity and digging deep to do 2 drops this year. I have been in touch with the hospital and they are really looking forward to Saturday. They even announced it in their newsletter. I know the shelter will appreciate this as well.

So again, thanks in advance!! I can honestly say I've never been more proud of a group of senior citizens. :D

Don't forget those Santa Hats folks!

Justin

Maurice,
Wow, for real? The rest of us better step it up a notch then.

SHELTER-DROP UPDATE:
Sorry guys, I've been out of pocket the last two days, down hard with this crazy flu going around. Felt like I was hit by a truck and drug along for a few miles. Starting to get my energy back now... I had to reach out for help to Justin today to do another site visit. Thanks to Justin again, he is the man! He is stepping in and helping me out so we don't miss our mark with the Shelter drop-offs. Please see the list on the earlier page/link.

We agreed its best to NOT WRAP the items you are bringing to the Shelter either, NO WRAPPING PLEASE. Justin recommended that we just go ahead and give "Rachele" (the coordinator) all of the items and she will decide what should should go to whom at the Shelter. If they are not wrapped this way she can see what we are giving her.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO IS HELPING and CONTRIBUTING.

decooney 12-15-2009 10:28 PM

Hey Dan / GT390FE,

Did you have any plans or ideas on where we can all go and stop at for a bit for a soda or something after the Shelter drop?
