Great Day for a Drive!

I couldn't stand it any longer... beautiful day, sunny, warm (for December) I had to get out and go for a drive. Picked up a friend and headed to Sacramento for a quick bite of lunch at the Squeeze Inn. Great burgers as many of you know. Any other great burger places that you can recommend?

I love being retired. :MECOOL:

See you all on the 19th.

I hear ya Bob!
My favorite burgers are the Pub Burger at Red Robin and the Jack Daniels Burger at TGIF. Yum! :)

Jim,
I'm going to have to give them a try. Thanks for the heads up.

Bob,
or maybe take Jim over to the Squeeze in and show him those burgers if he has not already been there. :) I've not been there yet, but folks at work sure talk about that place. I hear it gets packed. Maybe a future 2011 NorCal Saturday Lunch destination after the January/February rains let up, eh'?

Duane, it is a great place but they don't call it the squeeze in for nothing.....

I see what yur sayin'.

Unfortunately... that's the old place. The one with the real squeeze in and just total funky vibe. The new one still has the great burgers, that hasn't changed, it just doesn't have the same, how should I phrase this, curbside appeal.
An ADA lawsuit put an end to the old venue.

I was thinkin' the same thing yesterday... by the time I got home from WORK it was too late. You retired folks gotitmade! Hope to be joining you folks in a few more years... **) This weekend looks looks OK for a drive.

Just an FYI - There is also a Squeeze Inn in Roseville now. Lots of parking.

Being retired is the best damn job I've ever had! Just got back from a real nice drive here in SoCal; perfect weather.

Clayboy 12-08-2010 05:11 PM

There's also one in Galt and Napa.
Who would have thought this would turn into an ad for the Squeeze Inn? Maybe I can morph this into a free lunch!
I'm sure glad I went yesterday... too much rain today.

Wiener Works Madison Ave. has my favorite burgers, I haven't tried the Squeeze yet though. Wiener works specializes in wieners of course but the burgers are great.

They have a bunch of beers to select from too!

Clayboy 12-11-2010 11:29 PM

Beers...? did you say Beers?
I'm in!

I concur on the retirement. I started working at 11 and was never unemployed until retirement at 55. It all paid off. ...........What to do...what to do? Think I'll head out for the day. There's a lot of rain coming our way in the next few days.

Bxx1 12-16-2010 09:33 AM

It seems to me it would a good idea if you retired guys got together more consistently and plan some nice day trips. Start you own Club. **):JEKYLHYDE

While that certainly sounds like a good idea, too many cliques already exist.
How about a retirement club where you don't have to be retired to participate.:D:D:D

 Enjoy for me as well - here we had 4" snow - it has been winter for more than a month now...

I live in the wrong place

Clayboy 12-16-2010 07:30 PM

Henrik,
Don't be so sure. I have a good friend from college that moved to Denmark years ago. He is a glassblower with a studio in Copenhagen and he loves it. He also doesn't have a cobra... so the weather is not his big issue.

decooney 12-16-2010 07:55 PM

Can't imagine what it's like to have an extra 60 or so hours a week free to just wake up whenever, go for a Cobra ride mid week, or do whatever. Geeze, must be nice. Hats off to those of you who can. Enjoy! :)
