New Years Day Drive 2012
I enjoy making the New Year's Day memorable. If there is anyone wishing to join me, I plan on driving into the foothills around Ione/Placerville/Green Valley Road. I will be at the Pavillons Fair Oaks Blvd., Sacramento (where Euro Sunday is held) at 10AM Jan 1, 2012. . . weather permitting. Last year it rained. This year looks sunny but cold.
I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday but I can remember the weather conditions last year. |
Sounds like a plan - weather permitting of course. Probably won't drive down to the Pavillons just to double back. Let me know which way you will be headed out and I can meet up with you.
Merry Christmas! |
Ron,
Do you have a route planned? I agree with Phil... In that I don't want to drive to Sacramento and then drive back to the foothills. We would love to meet you somewhere along the way, but where? Bob |
I dont have a route planned in stone, but ... I was thinking Hwy 50 to Bradshaw... then East on Hwy 16 to Ione Rd. Could meet Clayboy at the Castle Oaks. Then Hwy 124 to Hwy 49. We could meet at the Restarant (is it called Perko's now?) at Bradshaw and Hwy 50 for Phil. How's does that sound? Comments are welcome.

Sounds good to me Ron. I hope that it is OK for everyone else.

I was planning on heading out Sunrise to the Jackson Hwy and then meeting whoever shows at or near Ione Rd. Just give me an idea what time you think you might be getting in that area. Lot of hits on the topic, but not a lot of takers, huh? |
Lunch at Castle Oaks again? Yowsa......Keep the Intel coming. It was a good drive out of Motown before.
|
Phil,
If your intending to meet around Sunrise...suggest we can meet at the corner of Sunrise and Douglas... there is a Walgreens (?) pharmacy there and nice parking lot. I should be there around 10:45AM. I will be at the Pavillions parking lot at 10 and leave around 10:20 or so. It should give us time to meet Bob at Ione ... timelines not fully established... will keep in touch. PM sent. **) |

I spoke to a few who saw the thread who will be doing new years eve out or out of town, so this might be why. I was thinking about joining, but have not worked on my car or changed the battery out yet since busy over the holidays. post again for sure where you guys are meeting in case you might get some last minute takers. Have a nice drive you guys... |
I'll meet whoever shows at Brookfield's at 10:45, New Years Day.
HWY 50 at SUNRISE 11135 Folsom Blvd. Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 |
Rick,
It seems Castle Oaks will be a good place to meet you. I (we) should be there around 11:15am. If its raining.... all bets off. |
Good idea Ron.
I`ll see you at Pavillions Maurice |
This drive is starting to get some legs.
We'll see everyone at Castle Oaks on Sunday... 'bout 11:15. Bob |
Or at least a good limp
|
Need a place to gas up too. I have only 15 gal tank (and Webers!)
|
Rick,
You can fill up in Ione and then if we drive Amador County, all the small towns have gas available... even on Sunday! LOL Bob |

Hi Rick,
Just spoke to Bob (Clayboy) and we might have a breakfast at the Castle or maybe drive a bit further to places he knows of in the area. He lives in Ione and knows the back roads.... including backroads to Jackson. SO..... this is going to be a more interesting ride/day as it progresses....:D and I am happy your attending as I have read many of your posts during the years... looking forward to meeting you! :3DSMILE: Ron FYI: Your message inbox is full. |
