About a year ago "Cartman" suggested McAnally Racing in Roseville as a place to meet. As I recall they were doing some engine work for him on his Backdraft. It would be a cool venue as a Corvette Club meets there every Saturday morning.

Just a thought if nothing better is introduced.

bunyip 11-02-2013 07:33 PM

Hey Phil - I drove through the MnAnally parking lot this morning and there were about 15 Vetts parked there. My Cobra felt out of place amoungst the Sting Rays so i snaked on out.

A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

Hey guys --

Sorry I haven't posted for a while but I've been dealing with some health issues and am currently recovering from abdominal surgery.

Phil is right -- I had talked to Bill McAnally and he said he would be happy to host a Saturday morning event and give us a tour of the Racing Facility.

I guess the Corvette guys are doing something similar, but I still think it might be cool to have a "battle of American muscle" and have a Vette "and" Cobra show and "get-to-gether".

I probably will not be ready by the 16th, but I'm sure a call by anyone directly to Bill would confirm whether or not the Saturday idea would work for his shop and the corvette guys -- should they gather there every Saturday.

Anxious to get back together with you all --

Jeff

Get well soon Jeff. Thanks for the offer. Sounds like we have a plan brewing. If I had to guess, I would estimate 14-20 people and may add a few more later if you get more details.

Can you ask Bill what he needs from us to secure a reservations?

Do they serve breakfast or buffet, how does it work?

decooney 11-05-2013 07:49 AM

Phil,
do you know Bill over there at Bill McAnally's place? I don't.

I/we did not hear back from Cartman so I thought I'd ask since you mentioned it first. It would probably be better to set this one up through someone who knows Bill vs. me making a cold call to Bill.

Hi Duane,

No, I don't know anybody over there. Although, I believe it would just be a tour - no breakfast.... but that's just a guess. I go by there no-and-then on Saturday's when the Corvette guys are out and give them a "blip" or two for grins :)

Cartman 11-05-2013 08:27 AM

I'm sure Bill McAnally would be very receptive to anyone who would call with questions regarding setting up a Saturday morning tour and get-together.

He is an incredibly cordial person and would make anyone making a first inquiry feel very comfortable. (Duane or Phil to inquire?)

Any food items would probably need to be provided by Cobra participants -- or an earlier breakfast or subsequent lunch could easily be arranged at a nearby restaurant.

I hope this helps --

Jeff

We can go back to a familiar place for breakfast in Roseville then. See below...

Thanks Duane - i stopped by Bill McAnally's place on Riverside today and the Shop manager, Alan, said that he could show us around and answer any questions. The Vette' guys said come on down - they meet up there between 9:30 and noon.
One for breakfast.

Thanks Murray.
If we order right at 10 and eat from 10-11:15 or so, maybe we could run by there afterwards if you wanna set it up. Feel free. We have no idea who all will go over or how many. I'm sure a few will want to go over and check it out afterwards.

note: I did not want to have us start breakfast at too early this time in case some wanted to come from the west side our south areas, and will be a tad warmer too later morning. I plan to get there a little before 10 like we usually do...

How about a new guy? I'm just finishing up a Factory Five and would very much like to attend. Is this generally an all guys sort of thing or do wives come along?
