Looking for Cobra Kit
I just purchase a 1985 Corvette and plan to use it as a donor car for a Cobra build. I'm having trouble finding a kit! The shipping for online stores is way to much and I'm trying to do a budget build.
Let me know if you know of anyone selling fiberglass bodies because I need one by Feb 1st (Project day)

If you're looking for a body to fit your chassis, your options are very limited. There is only one company that sells bodies to fit the Corvette.

Yeah so I've heard. I willing to modify the body so at this point it is just find a company to sell me one for a good price.

It's not just stretching the body to fit the Corvette. You are grossly underestimating what is required

X2, there is nothing easy or inexpensive like attempting to modify a Cobra body to fit on a Corvette chassis.
What are your fabrication skills like?
Are you planning to cut and shorten and narrow the corvette chassis?
What is your budget like?

My fabrication skills are okay, for that I would be relying on my dad he is very skilled.
I was hoping for a budget of 12000 including the donor car but its looking like its going to be $15,000.
I found a kit that exactly fit my corvette year for 6500. Including shipping and everything. At first this seemed like a big price but the way you guys are talking this might be the best route.

Yes, that is the correct route. Otherwise you are going to be disappointed and out a lot of money

I wish you luck as you are undertaking a big project that could well run into more than you are expecting. Keep us informed as to what you finally do as it will be interesting to see what you wind up with.
