Duane,

Sorry to hear that all didn't go exactly as planned...at least they caught it right away. Hopefull.y recovery will go smoothly, and that bit of misfortune will be long forgotten.

Best wishes, Ron

Hey Duane,

Sounds like you had a good mechanic / machine shop and they got the right parts in there. Sorry to hear you had a rough go but you got through it. I'll call soon, don't want to bug you. Rest and heal up soon my friend.

All the best, John

Duane,

Just got back in town and read about your ordeal. Ouch - and your "clutch" leg too :( The most important part of your recovery is ahead of you - the rehab. It most likely won't be the most fun you have every had, but do it anyway!!! It will insure your total recovery.

Hang in there.

Calbullet 10-26-2008 07:43 PM

Duane, take it slow, winters coming and its a good time to stay inside where its warm, should be all healed by summer. hope the nurses at rehab take good care of you

I'll bet you're glad the surgery part is done ...now re-hab. I just went to Doc. Howell in Sac. three weeks ago to set up one of two knee replacements, hopfully for about December for the first and May '09 for the second.

I have to wait for the first one as I guess I have a compressed spine pinching a nerve in my left leg. They're going to put me in a cat scan so they can see the nerve and kill it! When they said kill it, I didn't ask if it was by an injection or a .45 cal or something...I guess I should ask.

Were all in the same boat at this age. Heal fast and get it bent enough to get in the Cobra..I hope it wasn't your clutch leg! Tom

Duane, I have an automatic in the Jaguar if you get the urge to venture.......

Get well bud and just sit back and relax.......When I had my heart surgery at least I got to watch the O.J. trial......the entire trial...........akkkkkk

Hi All,

This is the first time I've seen this thread in a while. Was out of it a bit again...I gotta tell ya, for all the stories I heard from people about how you are suppose to be up and around pretty quick, well in my case, it was not true. Typically, I usually do okay with surgeries like this but this one has taken the longer route. My surgeon recently told me that my hip was more tore up than what I originally knew, +2 surgeries on top of it did not help.

This weekend I had to go back into emergency, while the whole healing process was going on, I've been steadily building up an allergic reaction to some of the narcotics/antibiotics I've been taking. It all belw up this weekend, and I was to the hospital again. Anyhow, I think I know what drug was causing all the chaos. My solution was to stop taking them, and that's what I did. Problems have seem to subside a bit now.

Pat, thanks for the nice offer. As for going to the next breakfast, I think I'm out, as I can barely walk on a walker 1ft every 2 seconds, and any type of movement still aches pretty bad, so maybe in December or something.

Thanks for all the nice replies everyone. I really appreciate it. Duane

Duane,

Hope you are doing well. Take it easy and take it slow. Best to get in over with and be ready for the spring.
