Third Saturday June 20

Anyone up for a traditional breakfast at Mel's Folsom at around 8:30. Maybe a ride after.
Other suggestions?

pooreds 06-15-2009 11:08 PM

Wherever is fine with me!!

Hi Tom,
I'm in for a quick bite at Mels and a short run up the hill and back down 50 or something...:) Also, if you had not planned to do so, you might want to call Mels just to give them a heads up on the back corner seating. DC

UB DRMNG 06-16-2009 09:34 AM

I'm in.

Are these typically Wife friendly events?

A short run sounds good too, we have a wedding to go to latter that Saturday.

Saturday.

Friendly yes, and attendance seems to be related somewhat to start time. At 08:30am start, typically fewer wives attend. Historically, those meetups that start at say 09:00/10:00a.m., more wives attend. In the Summer time, we all try to meet a tad earlier in the cooler weather though...

wanab5150 06-16-2009 11:26 AM

The April meet that “JrjMac1” (John) set up was at 8:00 or 8:30 I thought, and had a big turnout with many wives or girlfriends and 15-20 cars. The months before that also had similar attendance even when there was a threat of rain. (Feb, Mar?)

I would suggest that those who want to meet for a relaxed breakfast go at 8:30 or 9:00 and the ones that want to go on a drive go early and meet with the rest when they get back from the drive at whatever time that might be.

The drive in April to Rio Vista was a blast but we were all stressed to get through breakfast and on the road. Maybe breakfast on the 3rd Saturday and a drive another Saturday? At least then the drive group could just go whenever they want and we could all have a relaxed "Third Saturday" together and catch up on things.

jrjmac1 06-16-2009 11:50 AM

I can make an early (8:30) breakfast at Mel's. No ride for me, I have a prior commitment late morning/early afternoon.

I agree with Tom a "relaxed" breakfast "only", is more enjoyable. A well planned ride/breakfast...ride/lunch is enjoyable as well. Choice is good!

decooney 06-16-2009 07:12 PM

I agree, the whole drive before breakfast approach works pretty good especially in the Summer.

Clayboy 06-16-2009 08:12 PM

Tom,
Becca and I are in...see you on Saturday at 8:30 at Mel's.

PoorEd, If you want to go on a longer drive before breakfast, I know of this place in Roseville you can get your track numbers. It's right up the road a bit. Maybe around a corner or two, then right off this road I know!!! It's crystal clear in my mind!

STEVE COURTWRIG 06-17-2009 02:20 PM

Saturday breakfast is good for me,Larson and McD. We"ll See you @ 8:30! We all have obligations later in the morning, can't make the run.

pooreds 06-17-2009 05:45 PM

yep, right around the corner, here, somewhere, nothing looks familiar, I could be going in circles.
Found the place this morning!

Jim Norris 06-17-2009 07:52 PM

Count me in!
See you on Saturday.

At least 4 wives will be there that have signed up. More usually come. Please bring yours and we'll make her feel at home.

She is planning on being there. She is the one with the snake bite on the back of her leg! %/

The car shows I have been to lately don't attract Cobras, everything else though. This will be nice!

To: All NorCal Cobras attending breakfast

LAST MINUTE / AFTER BREAKFAST - NOT SURE IF ANYONE WOUD BE INTERESTED (Making a List just in case...)

After breakfast, at 10:00a.m. - the local River City Shelby Club is doing a tour of the Alston Chassis Works facility locally. I sent a note to the club president, asking if they'd mind if maybe a few from NorCal Cobras wanted to meet up and check this out after breakfast. Depending on what the answer is, I might just drive the Cobra over afterwards to the facility.

If any of you might be interested, let me know. I'm working on maybe us adding 3-4 people who might want to attend. DC
