2016 NW Club Cobra Coastal Cruise

It’s time for another cruise down the Oregon coast. Please see the following for all the details:

When: July 22, 2016

Where: Starting at the Lakewood, WA McDonald’s at the Park & Ride off SR512 and I-5 (10417 Pacific Hwy SW, Tacoma, WA 98499), ending in Florence, Oregon.

What: This will be another 3 days of fun filled Cobra adventure! The plan is to leave the Park & Ride on Friday at 8:30 AM. We will head South towards Montesano (Pit stop- Fuel and potty break) and then down to Astoria Oregon (potty break at the rest stop before we cross the bridge). We will then continue to Seaside, Oregon where we will stay at the Hi-Tide Oceanfront Inn (no more Shilo). We should arrive in Seaside by lunch time. You can then explore all that Seaside has to offer. Hopefully our Cascade Cobra brothers will also join us!

Saturday, July 23, we will leave Seaside and head South on the Coast Hwy 101 to Tillamook where we will stop for a tour of the Tillamook Dairy & sample fresh cheese and ice cream. Our next stop will be the Newport Café for lunch in Newport Oregon. Once back on the road, we'll head to Florence, Oregon which is the final destination. Our accommodations are at the Three Rivers Hotel and Casino. There will be plenty of time to explore old town Florence and take in all the local attractions. Plan on a group dinner at the Three Rivers.

Sunday, July 24 we will leave Florence at 8:30 AM and head back up Hwy 101 to Waldport, take Hwy 34, and head towards Corvallis Oregon where we’ll stop for a quick bite to eat. There’s a great sandwich shop called University Hero (University Hero ? Taste the Difference) we can eat lunch at. Then off, heading north on I-5, for the Tacoma area.

I have reserved a block of rooms for Seaside and Florence. I recommend making reservations early for the best room selections. I did secure better room rates based on the group rates. The rooms at both locations will be held under "NW Club Cobra" You need to tell them you are in that group to get the special price.

The contact number for the Seaside Hi-Tide Oceanfront Hotel is 800-621-9876, http://www.hitideseasidehotel.com/. They will have reserved parking for us and will keep an eye on our cars. Room rates are $149. All rooms are full ocean view. The hotel was just recently remodeled (new beds, carpet, paint, etc.).

The contact number for the Three Rivers Hotel is 877-374-8377, http://threeriverscasino.com/. They will also reserve a special parking area for the group. Room rates are $79.

Bring a car cover in case it is misty.

If you have never driven 101 in a Cobra you are missing out! I think everyone will have a great time. It is hard to beat the views and twisty roads that we will be driving.
