Default WA State law question

Is there any prohibition on quick release steering wheels on cars like Cobra replicas that did not ever come with air bag, collapsible columns, cruise control and so on I see that the better units like Sparco ,Sweet MFG do not have any options for even a horn. The NRG have pass through wiring but they do not seem to last over time.

I've owned my SPF GT40 for 12 years here in WA. All SPF GT40's have a removable steering wheel and I had no problem getting it titled.

@SwiftDB4, Was yours a Greenish-gray?? Did you work the Sovern vintage races? And you raced a Swift FF? If so this Tom Lesh, raced the Yellow Alfa GTV with Sovern, we also worked turn's together. Cheers TommyRot.

Hi Tom,
No my GT40 is silver metallic. I used to race a Swift DB4 Atlantic in SCCA many years ago at Portland. I probably have seen your Alfa at the SOVERN PIR races.

Do you still own it? Or have you every brought it up here? (The GT-40) We have a new Black Superfomance GT-40 (500miles, 427 SB Roush), and a 97 ERA GT-40 (408 SBF) here in the PNW, in our club. I remembered the other Superformance GT-40 owners name Tim Dutton, ring any bells?? He & I raced FF back in the late 80's- 90's, with SCCA/IRDC. I have a Love/Hate relationship with PIR, I either won or broke no middle ground there My 66 Drop Nose GTV, is now a 2.5 Trans-Am car in So. Cal. driven by Jerry Tinnes son. Cheers TommyRot.

Hi Tom,
No I haven't had my SPF up to Seattle. I ran into Tim Dutton about 10 years ago when we were getting the SEMA replica titling bill passed in Olympia. At that time he was finishing an RCR GT40.

That's right he was building a RCR, I've tried to find Tim a couple years ago, when I ran the Cobra Car Corral on the 4th. of July races here, could never track him down, Any idea where he is??? Hasn't been to a vintage race (Working turns) after he finished the GT. Really like to hook up with him, he doesn't know I have my 2-Cobras. Lets stay in touch, maybe you can come up here, or our group can run down there, Cheers Tom.
