Default Chapter meeting

Guys and Gals:

After 6 tries to set up a meeting w/the GM @ Germain Ford, to no avail, I've gone to plan "B" for the Central Ohio Chapter meeting. Plan "B" is locked in concrete!! The meeting will be 11/17/01 @ Houlihan's Grille, 3580 W. Dublin Granville Rd (Rt 161), Columbus, OH @ 11 AM. Come one-come all (you define the geographical limits of central Ohio) Any ?s, E-mail me.

P.S. Houlihan's was most helpful. Could be the State meeting site?

Thumbs up

Frank,
I'll be there! I'll also call some of the guys who are not on-line. What's up with Germaine? Do we need to do an official "Cobra Club" boycott of this dealer? I think after expressing earlier interest, if he's stiffing you now, that's unacceptable.

DV, you still gonna make that big anouncement??

See everyone the 17th!

Dave

Default directions

Off of 270 on the north end of Columbus take Sawmill road south. 0.8 miles make a left heading east on W. Dublin Granville Road, OH-161. Houlahans (3580, phone is (614)932-9090), I beleive on the left just after Sawmill Place Blvd. About 0.5 miles.

Yeh! What is up with Germain!? I can not imagine a Ford dealer not having a number of Cobras on the lot. Talk about getting people to stop at the dealer! The only way you could get more people to stop may be by having the Bud girls in bikinis giving away free beer! Not to mention how much money Cobra people spend on Ford parts!

Stupid move on the GM part.

Default Meeting on the 17th

Hey!

If the weather is gonna be that good, I'm bringing Ol' SPF 725.
Let's park in the back in a line and draw the croeds!!

I don't know what's up with Germain but I'm gonna write a letter to Mr. Germain and find out! I'm also gonna find another Ford affiliate to work with us, Maybe Graham Ford downtown on Broad Street. A friend of ours used to buy all her cars there and knows someone on the inside.

See y'all on the 17th!

Frank,
I'm not sure what croeds are, but if they are female, and cute, I'm all for it!

Seriously though, if you have trouble finding a Ford dealer who wants to work with us, I can inquire here in Marysville at Chapman Ford. I used to work there a few years ago, and know the owner personaly. Btw, he has an original '66 Shelby Hertz Mustang, so I think he would be real excited to work with us. Perhaps we can discuss this at the meeting.

So, let's hope the weather holds, and we can rattle some windows!!

Dave

P.S. Steve Boardman, if you are following this thread, what's the latest on the shirts???

OCC:

If you want to get a Ford Dealership involved, I feel fairly certain I can convince KREIGER'S to be involved. For those that don't know they are next to our Motels that we reserved. (I-270 & I- 70)

Lots of restaurants next door too-Bob Evans to the Ol' Cracker Barrell - for future reference.

I didn't say anything earlier as I didn't want to "confuse" things.

If this is an idea anyone wants to explore, let me know and I will contact them again and see if they are still interested.

DV - still without Cobra!

P.s. "THE" Big event, to be announced, is actually getting closer and closer to being a reality! Again, if this comes to fruition, I will need everyone of you that have volunteered to jump on the band wagon! Ohhh this is so cool!

P.s.s. Just a side note - IF this hapens I can assure you it WILL BE the first of it's kind of event for "any" car club. Let alone Cobra's!!!

Smile Mother Nature giveth....

...Mother Nature taketh away.

Dunno guys, big fog rolled in out here in Union county. Just like a cold, wet rain. We'll see what it looks like come time to leave(10:30), but doesn't look good for driving the Cobra as of now. Damm shame it couldn't be like yesterday...warm by 9 AM!

Regardless, I'll be there, be it by OPEC loving, ground shaking Cobra; or OPEC hating, is-it-running Civic.

See you soon!
Dave

Thumbs up Great meeting!

It was good to see everyone that came to the "Central" meeting. I think we have a good plan of action heading into the next state meeting in January.

Was wishing I'd braved the fog and cold on the way in, cuz the ride home was most enjoyable(weather-wise). Had to cycle the V-TEC in the Civic just for prosperity!

Was looking forward to breaking out the Cobra for a quick drive when I got home, but instead, was greeted by a "broken" tractor in need of immediate repair. Ah, the curse of a multi-acre yard.

Which brings me to the real point of this post. Tomorrow looks to be a real beauty(once the fog burns off..), so I'm planning to cruise over to the Quaker Stake and Lube(Polaris) just to get out, see if any cars show up. Hope to leave early afternoon. If anyone wants to meet-up along the way, or join me there, I'll be taking the scenic route along Riverside Drive, through Powell, on over to Polaris.

I'll check this post again before I leave.

Bye for now!
Dave

Default Chapter Meeting

OCC:
Great turnout!! Thanks to all who came. It looks like we're off and running. We're getting some structure to the organization and starting to develop a "To Do" list for DVII. Any of you who want to help out with any of the tasks that need attention please let me know. Remember, this is for Team Jenny and Cystic Fibrosis. We need people to be the focal point for Public Affairs ( contact with the media, publicity, etc.) ; Coordination with hotels/motels/accomodations, etc. ; solicitation of corporate donors (everyone can do), hospitality (coordination with caterer, the park/lodge at Cherokee Lake and in many other areas.
