I am a little disapointed in the whole dyno tune experience. When I talked to Eric he indicated that the process usually took about an hour. In TWO hours of dyno time the only thing that was accomplished was to rejet the carb and set the timing. Played a bit with the accelorator pump but did not have the parts to get it right. I have to finish the job myself.

Since I have been there the car will now backfire through the carb abit, I think it blew the power valve plus I suspect the timing was not locked down and has slipped. So tomorrow I am going to go through it all again and if what I suspect is correct, then Eric will be hearing from me.

No adjustment at all on power valve, idle mixture, transfer curcuits, secondary springs, NOTHING. Usually takes an hour 'eh?

They did get the fuel curve at full throttle right. Car picked up a bit of power from the first run. Of course they backed the timing off SO far that it lost power from the start.

Not pissed yet. We will see what I find tomorrow.

Judy and I are if we can get some decent weather.
We have a heater, but that only helps a little.
We will trailer down to the columbus area and then go from there.
one last blast for the year, well not exactly, we are taking the car to Florida in November.

Frank ~ best wishes on speedy recovery!!

Mike ~ I'm with ya on the warm weather. I'll never forget last years cruise. When I started out that morning it was 29 degrees. Thank god it finally reached a balmy 55 degrees!!!!

Mike ~ the 10 day forecast calls for 70 degrees and partly cloudy....zero percent of percipitation. Sounds like I can leave the long-johns at home this year!!!

Brian

p.s. this is Ohio though.....forecast could change any second!!!

Hey all,
I haven't been on the forum for a while, but it looks like my wife and I will be in for this drive. Of course, every time I drive, it's in the hocking hills. Bremen is only 7 miles north of Logan. Haven't really had the car out since Spring Fling. Wound up with a herniated disc in my back and a little degenerative disc disease to go along with it. Oh well, nothing a little side pipe exhaust won't cure. Don't know where you are all meeting, or what route your taking, but if you head down through Lancaster, we'll probably hook up with everyone on Memorial Drive in Lancaster somewhere. I'm kind of computerless until about Wednesday when my new Dell show's up, but I can check up on the forum if I go over to the office. Someone chew up and spit out the details so I can get a taste. Talk to ya'll soon.

Frank, that's good incentive to "get well soon"! Take care of yourself!

We are still planning to pilot the Focus down. I've gotta get a pic of Little D in a Cobra! Any volunteers for a photo op?

Stuff

Performance Engineering did the dyno tune.

Well the leave forecaster lied! We are going to be no where near peak this Saturday. However, considering the incredible weather forecasted this week end and the fact that the Bucks game is not on until 9PM, I still can not think of a better weekend.

By mid-week I will send a note to every one on the list with the plans. Since this is the 'core' group, how about some ideas.

- Meet at lodge at 11AM
- Lunch at lodge at 11:30 or so
- Cruise here, look at sights, cruise there.
- Maybe dinner

Pretty informal isn't it?

Jim, being our local expert, would you be interested in coming up with some cruise routes, points of interest and maps for after lunch? Dinner recommendations?

Ideas any one!?!?!??!

Thanks
Rick

dalola 10-06-2003 12:04 PM

Rick,

I like the idea of meeting up at the lodge(we are talking about the "official" state park lodge, yes?) say, from 11-noon, then having lunch, then off for some scenic cruising.

Maria, Little D, and myself will prolly branch off later in the afternoon to head home, so I'll leave the "late" plans to you party animals!

Saturdays forecast looks awesome so the more time spent in the cobra the better. Since I will be heading down from the north I thought maybe we could meet up somewhere in Columbus and cruise to Hocking from there.

Any one else coming from the north??? If so, I could meet up with you at either the Rt. 30 and 71 exit of Rt. 61 and 71 exit.

Brian,
We'll be coming from Marysville(NW), 270 to 33. Is there a "B" point meet-up, like maybe Lancaster?

I'm game for anything in route.
~Dave

rdorman 10-06-2003 01:06 PM

For all those coming through/from Columbus

I was thinking of meeting up at 270 and 33 on the way to Lancaster. There is a nicer drive than out 33 through lancaster. Going 256 to 664 (I beleive) and straight into old mans cave. I came back this way last year and it was a much prettier stretch of road (all new to). This would take a little longer........., just a thought.

Yes, lunch at the Hocking Hills State Park Lodge. Meet and great for a while, stretch the legs, allow people time to get there and then eat.

Dinner ideas? Ideas in general?

Rick

oldman ohio 10-06-2003 03:30 PM

We will joining up from Granville, oh
If you use the 256/664 route, we would want to join up at or around the 664 intersection.
We would need an approximate time to meet.
Looking forward.

Rick ~ 270 & 33 is fine with me. What time were you thinking?? Lunch at the lodge sounds good and would also serve good as a general meeting location. As for dinner afterwards, I'm open for suggestions. There is always QS&L. Plus its on the way home for me.

Brian

dalola 10-07-2003 07:42 AM

I like the idea of 664 into Hocking Hills. Looks like a scenic drive, but I've never gone this way. We may take 37 East out of Lancaster to pick up 664, rather than 256. I've been on 256 before, and I recall it being pretty heavily traveled, and mostly 2 lane. Plus, not much to look at scenery-wise until south of lancaster.

BRIAN--

WHERE WILL YOU BE COMING FROM??? I (IF I CAN) WILL BE LEAVING WADSWORTH---
I HAVE AN OBLIGATION I WILL TRY TO RESCHEDULE AND AM WORKING ON IT TODAY--

MIKE

bnewell 10-07-2003 05:01 PM

Mike ~ I live in Galion (should be on the map..lol), so either the 30/71 exit or 61/71 exit works for me. Let me know!!

Brian

p.s. anyone else coming from up north???

Mike Braatz 10-07-2003 08:24 PM

Brian

I can meet you at 30/71=== at the rest area on 30
I'm still not free from my obligation yet, but I should know for sure tomorrow.

What time will you get to 30/71-- I don't know if anyone else is going or not-- but I'm going to check.

I'll be back on here tomorrow---
Mike
