How can you tell them all apart? :p

Rick 427 Cobra 04-05-2010 06:11 PM

Not a one off, in fact it's basically the same as mine. Some differences, like the batteries and other cosmetic stuff.

ERA289 FIA actually owned by Reggie's nephew who believes (clearly, wrongly so) that the car is worth more if it is titled in his uncles name. At the last three Washington Crossing picnics/shows/cruises he kept saying how much it was worth and how easy it was going to be to sell the next month (then the next month, then next year, etc)...........Enough said...........

Cool car, Would be cooler with period webers & engine race dressup kit.

Stupid Question

Is the reference to a Hi-Tech body meant to be a description of the body or of the manufacturer?

As I said, dumb question.

Thanks,

Bob

I actually been watching this FIA Cobra the last 8 months or so as it was on Ebay back then and didn't sell. I really like these High Tech cars (Manuf now out of business) as it reminds me of my past Kirkham FIA and would probably buy it if I could buy it without a motor or for a lot less money to then upgrade the motor. It's been for sale for a long time....

Rick 427 Cobra 04-05-2010 09:05 PM

Hi tech was a manufacture of clones ,not replicas, in Arizona. Not to be confused with the Superforance people. Very spot on clones. The 289's where a little rare compared to the 427's.
One of the principles has worked for Shelby for years.

The Shelby source for 'glas cars made in Mexico/Calif HQ is not a "HiTech"

..it is HST.

HOC didn't give things away & I would have wanted to change a few things on the car anyway. It just didn't make sense.

Love those FIA's Hi - Tech Rules :3DSMILE:

1985 CCX 04-20-2010 07:17 PM

Great car and very nicely done, priced a bit high
Not sure the dash signing was a bonus?

Trueoo7 04-20-2010 08:20 PM

Why wouldn't Reggie sign it instead of MARK, who's he?

This is an exact recreation of an original FIA289 Cobra...
Nice car, well done, but I have to exception to the above statement and it's use of the word "exact", one glance under the hood instantly reveals it for what it is. A nice "replica", as most of us have come to understand that term (inaccurate as even it may be).
