The clock is from a '62 Galaxie. I have a few used and two NOS. All the original Cobras I have seen had the case chromed. On my replica I popped off the case (zinc plated) and had it chromed. I see. So there isn't a seperate ring, its the case that was chromed?

There is a case that is in two parts-the front part that surrounds the face of the clock, and the back. They are held together with tabs that can be bent to separate the two. The front part is to be chromed.

Clock Photo
Had no luck uploading a photo of the 62 Galaxie clock but here is a link to a website for identifying clocks that has an excellent photo of one for anyone who is interested. (They are in alphabetic order by manufacturer, will have to scroll down a bit). If I am understanding correctly the plastic case is 2-piece and the front can be taken off & chromed. Now to find one.

I tried to up load the photo too but couldn't. Thanks for the link.
I think the case on the clock is metal, not plastic. I actually have a line on
one, just don't have it yet.

The Galaxie clock is stamped steel that is zinc plated.

Wish I had this kind of luck on the lottery. Put an ad on Craigslist and in under 15 minutes a guy called with the clock!!
