I suspect you're right about the SC model not carrying a spare. If I'm not mistaken, the SCs originally came about in an effort for Shelby American to sell more cars. I believe they took a few comp cars that were already produced (and sitting without buyers), and performed a mild conversion to street, resulting in the SC model.

My 4000 series car is pretty consistent with the original SCs as far as I can tell, but with a couple of discrete liberties that I took to make the car more street friendly. For example, I added a heater/defroster and ran the hoses down/behind the motor, along the oil pan rail and back up the front of the motor to the water pump and the expansion tank. The switch for the unit is mounted behind the dash where only I know where to locate it. It's only noticable if you're really paying attention. Same goes for the defroster vents; they're so commonplace on Cobras that you tend to not notice them unless you're paying attention to the fact that this is an SC. I stayed with vinyl seats, no glove box, no map pockets, etc.

Anyway, I'm of the opinion that the addition of a spare tire, jack, toolkit and grease gun is a good idea for a car that will likely be driven on the street most of it's life. When I get it all together, I'll try posting a couple of pictures. For starters, here's a picture of what the trunk currently holds.
Hello,
I don"t want to hijack the thread, but I saw this pick of the tunk and I would like to do the exact recessed area in the trunk.
If someone is willing and it isnt too much trouble I would appreciate the measurements of the area.

i can post a pick to show which measurements i am looking for and start a new thread.
thanks in advance.
Achi
