Smiths Gauges and comp dash layout

Hi,

I ordered my set of gauges and have a question regarding the oil pressure gauge. The options available are the 100 psi and 160 psi gauges. I've decided to go with mechanical gauges.

I am using a 390FE to power my FFR. It will be a mild build to about 400 hp.

I have seen some CSX cars and photos, and both gauges have been used..

What psi would you recommend and why?

I have searched this forum and did not find any info on the psi this engine should have nor the psi of the gauge.

I would also appreciate it if someone has the measurements to layout the gauges in a comp layout.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,
Achi

0-100 is big enough. engine oil presure is around 50 to70lbs. Rule of tumb is 10lbs of presure for every1000 RPM of engine rev.

On the FFR, I suggest taking the measurements off your steering shaft opening and adjust the attached measurements from there.
