Default CSX2349 history?

Can anyone tell me the history of CSX2349?

It looks to have started as a slabside but acquired big-block hips at some point, making it a very unique car that I find interesting.

Thanks for any help.........Bill

Bill, quoted from the Registry....

"Reports suggest....that the car received 5-spoke American wheels with splined adaptors and was rebodied at some point by a local Indy race car fabricator to be visually similar to a 427 Cobra" (not clear about when "at some point" occurred).

From the Registry entry, 2349 was upgraded with race equipment a number of times over a period from late '64 to late '66. It "reportedly raced in SCCA events" but "SCCA has no record" of its owner's achievements.

Again from the Registry...

"It was given a restoration in the late '70s. 2349 was pictured in The Shelby American, #33, p46, with rounded flares, American wheels, side pipes, an oil cooler scoop and a hood scoop."

Any use?

Cheers,
Glen

Thanks much, Glen...seems it represents the owners vision of the perfect Cobra. I think it looks pretty nice, too.
