Ok, so the A-H 100-4 is the only other car this mirror came on? Please confirm rear view mirror experts!

mirror
hey nick, I checked on CSX2498 and the back of the glass is smooth black, the bracket apprears to be wrinkle finish black. Also, the mirror is centered and it is right on the edge of the cowl so the fasteners go thru the steel tubing.
I will show you on saturday, later, Karl |
Now that we have determined that the correct mirror is a Lucas unit versus the Eversure style which direction is correct for the mirror post itself?
All the old 289 unrestored pictures I have referenced shows the mirror post facing forward almost backwards to all accounts. I have pics of some original 427's and they look to be that way as well. (Just like Sal's) Correct: http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...X/hires011.jpg[/quote] Also correct? http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...all_mirror.JPG Is post facing forward correct or post facing rearward? Or perhaps both? BTW: I have found that the mirror also came on various AC Ace, Bristol and AH100. Probably others as well? |
My findings on the subject.... comp cars (s/c included) had them facing forward, street cars had them facing back.

Forward back thing is confusing me now, didn't they have a hook on the top of the stem that could only point back?
