				Track Days-Iowa-July 16-17 2011 MAM

Registration is now open for the tenth annual open track weekend sponsored by the Mustang Club of Central Iowa at the Mid America Motorplex.
I realize most Cobra owners are waxers, but some of you actually use them as intended and hit the track on occasion.
I am poking fun because we have not had a great turnout from Cobra owners in the past. The Kansas City area usually yields a car or two, but there are a lot of Cobras in and around Iowa, and they are for the most part nonexistant at open track events we attend. Let's fix that. If a group of 10 or more cars will register for this event, we will give you your own run group, and guarantee the early registration price to the whole group.

Seriously, this is a great event, located smack dab in the middle of the country. For all of us in the Midwest, here's an opportunity to attend a safe, well-run event closer to home than the east or west coasts. The track was built just for this type of event. It is fast, challenging, and safe, with no walls to hit. The club provides free instructors for those who want one, and the cost is affordable, even in this economy.

Here's a link to the registration info. You can either print out the form and mail it in or you have the option of online registration and payment by PayPal or credit card.

Registration is now open. See you in July!

Cobras at the Mustang Club MAM

Is the mustang club friendly with the Cobras? He has a 'vette, would they accept that??
My brother and I usually go to MAM on FTL days, which is an odd ball collection of various cars.

Mustangs are mutts - they will play with anyone!

Yep, Cobras, Corvettes, BMWs, Lotuses, Porsches - they're all welcome.

We'll put you in a run group of cars/drivers with similar lap times. No guarantees that they will all be the same brand. No bikes, and no open wheelers - those are the only restrictions.

				MAM Event Cancelled

It is with much sorrow that I must inform everyone that our 10th anniversary MAM open track event has been cancelled.

The Army Corps of Engineers has issued an evacuation order for the area between Interstate 29 and the Missouri river in Mills County, Iowa. That’s where MAM is located.

The track is physically OK at this point, but there is high water on the MAM property, and some of the area roadways are closed.

We waited as long as we could to give Mother Nature a chance to spare the track, but now there just is too little time left for cleanup, etc., to occur should the Corps allow the track to reopen.

For those who have already paid to attend, we will refund your fees in full.

We have reserved the weekend of July 14-15, 2012 to try again next year. Please put it on your calendars.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Doug Dyar
