More complete schedule for Pomona Cobra 50th anniversary event

The 50th Anniversary Cobra Exhibit will be part of the inaugural Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion. Scheduled for Saturday, April 21, the Reunion is open to all Cobras, GT40s, Ford GTs, all Ford, Lincoln, Mercury (FLM) and FLM-powered vehicles, including trucks and Broncos and all Shelby vehicles. For Immediate Release POMONA, Calif. – Guest curator Lynn “Mr. Cobra” Park announced today a short list of the extraordinary Cobras to be included in the “Speed Merchants of Venice” 50th Anniversary Cobra Exhibit as part of the Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion scheduled for Saturday, April 21 at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California. The rare Cobras to be displayed include the following: The first production Cobra kindly loaned by Bruce Meyer. FIA 289 loaned by Lynn Park. Recently restored Shelby School of High-Performance Driving car loaned by David Lerian. 427 Comp Car loaned by Anthony Boosalis. 427 S/C loaned by Anthony Boosalis. King Cobra loaned by Bill Hartman. “El Cid” Dragonsnake loaned by Lynn Park. “I was honored to be invited to curate the ‘Speed Merchants of Venice’ exhibit,” said Lynn Park. “I think we have a very exciting line up of rarely-seen Cobras, plus I’m planning a few surprises. Thanks for posting the information. I will be in Pomona on the Friday overnight but have booked out early Saturday. So hope to see a little on Friday and catch up with a few people at the a Sheraton. I have a few days in LA to fill in so will hunt around for one or two car locations and yards to look at. Bernie |
Hi all. My wife Linda and I will be there too arriving the Sheraton Thursday evening.
Any evening get togethers planned for Thursday or Friday evenings at the Sheraton or local watering holes/eateries? Cheers Greg |
To bad the track days overlap with Saturdays events, can't be both places at once. Better if were 3 day event so one could see and do all.

I thought the track was just another part of the Pomona vast acerage
In the original planning they talked of having the old Pomona race track of the Fifties opened again. If that's still the plan, it's within walking distance, or maybe they will have shuttle buses. Any schedule conflict would be Sunday as that is the day of the Fabulous Fords Forever which is at least 40 miles away in Buena Park, near Disneyland, off Beach blvd. exit off 91 fwy

I usually take the White Ave. exit off 10 freeway(called the San Bernardino freeway) . It is about 15 miles from the 110 Harbor fway, which meets the 10. It is a little convoluted when you get off the freeway but the NHRA museum is only about 1000 ft. from the freeway so when you get off at White and turn left and turn left again, you are within sight of it on the West side of the street. It is also next to the hotel if that helps.

I spoke with a staff member of the NHRA Museum yesterday regarding planned 50th Reunion activities for April 21. She told me that as of Monday (March 26), staff was being told that the car show planned for their parking lot, was being moved. No details were made available.
Given that we are planning to drive down from Sacramento to make this event, kind of wondering if this is true and if anybody knows where the show is being moved? No desire to start any rumors, but it is a long drive. Thanks, Bob |
If it is moved it will be adjacent to the museum closer to where the cars will be running on the track. All is within walking distance.
There are lots of vendors bringing big rigs as well as a lot of cars coming for the show so we will determine within a week if we need to move it to the larger lot. |
Thank you!

One of the responses on this thread talked about a meet and greet on Friday night at the Sheraton.
Any more info on this? Cheers Greg |

Hi Linzzy. I thought I had the full package for my wife and I but I don't see mention of a Friday meet and greet. I must not be on the A list. Bummer.
LOL Cheers Greg |

See you there.

Linzzy....When you say closer to the Museum, do you mean the street areas directly adjacent to the side of the Museum? The area where other car shows have been staged. This would be a great alternative to the parking lot. CSX4017

It's a walk from the ,useum but there will be a tram available. Most can walk it though. |
Do not know the Avalon........do know the Sheraton's Bar. When can we expect credentials to be received? Thanks, looking forward to this.
