You need to talk to Ginny -- aka Mrs. mikiec. They both have an incredible zest for their Cobra!

HI JUNE,
THERE IS A YOUNG LADY IN THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA AREA WHO BUILT HER OWN FFR COBRA IN A ONE CAR GARAGE. VERY NICE CAR - VERY NICE LADY. KIT CAR MAG. DID AN ARTICLE ON HER AND HER CAR A FEW MONTHS BACK. I HOPE SHE ANSWERS THIS POST.
MY BUDDY "THE ALLEY CAT" DID ALMOST ALL OF THE RESTORATION WORK ON HER JAGUAR XK-150 AND HER 1956 LE MANS AUSTIN-HEALEY BY HERSELF. BOTH CARS TURNED OUT GREAT.
HAVE AGREAT DAY,
BLACKJACK

Hi, June...
If you are going to Knotts in April, Ginny and I will be there. She thinks more women should be driving these cars.
She loves our cobra and takes it out every chance she gets. Her two favorite things are shopping and cobra driving. When she combines them together watch out.

Mike,
I am going to be at Knotts, and I am interested in attending the dinner that was talked about. It seems that thread died out. Any info I should know about?
Cheers,
Steve

Steve
I just did a search and came up empty.
I'm sure someone will post something about the dinner as Knotts gets closer.

June,
Mike and I built our cobra together (with help from Gordon Levy). I have learned an awful lot about cars in the past year and have come to LOVE our cobra. In fact I keep telling Mike he needs to build one of his own.
I take it shopping when I go to the outlet mall about 20 miles north of Phoenix, and since it is all highway and the speed limit is 75 mph , you just know that I had to push it to 92 mph at least once.
I laugh at the looks and reactions I get, most people expect to see guys driving.
My plans are to take the driving classes in the fall to learn how to really handle it ... and I think I'd like to try it around the track at least once.
I think more ladies should be involved with the cars, and get behind the wheel .. it is really fun!!!!!!
My only complaint (Mike see's it as a blessing) when I do go shopping the trunk space is limited ... ha ha ha! I keep reminding him jewelry come in small boxes.
Happy driving Ladies!!!!

Hi June!
Glad to see you back on the forum. Our schedule looks good for July or August. We were trying to do Aspen, but that has fallen by the side. Lets plan something! Lets do something to support his charity!
Send me your number(again) and I will call you and we can work out the details. Do you think Joe would want to sing a little something for us Cobra folk? I hope so!!!

I can't keep my gal-pal Ellen Johnson, harborinsurance@rockisland.com out of mine. She has her own set of keys and now wants her own garage door opener. A beautiful blond with a NASCAR mentality. Boy does she get the looks.

Lady Driver
Hi June
My husband built a FFR Cobra 2 years ago. The first year I wouldn't drive it, I was to affraid of it. This summer I have driven it probably as much as he has. I love this car!! It's funny ... when ever I take the Cobra out I always get at least one person (MAN) that asks me, Does your husband know your driving his car?? He's planning to build one for me as soon as we are able to! I think I will get a personalized plate thats reads.. NOT HIS! I'd also like to see more women driving Cobra's. They have no idea what their missing!
Love My Cobra!

Here is one lady to make you all proud! Name is Linda Dunn and at Unique Motorcars' annual Cobrafest, she runs so hard in the track event that she will have to compete in the open class next year.

I hope I can live up to your expectations
Hi...This is Linda.. Just saw the picture and yes I will have to run in the open class with all the testosterone at the Unique Homecoming. The car was on the track 5 times last year and she showed a little wear and tear.(Lots of sand blasting) Getting ready for a track day this weekend and then it's the Homecoming Run may 11, 2002....Will try to run as best I can and we will see how it goes.....
