Hey that is great. Wonder how many registrations we have now? I've got atleast 2 customers coming from CT and another 4 or 5 from NJ/PA.

Naumoff 05-30-2008 08:33 AM

I just checked my GPS and it is a 4 hour run for me on the highway. Not bad.
Add 2 hours if I want to run the back roads.
Hope the weather holds as I might not be able to make the rain date.

YOU are da MAN! Looking forward to having another Unique at this run.

Now that I know you're going, there is no way I'm not going. Unless of course it rains, I don't like to get wet. :p

That's what rain dates are for

turnpike boy 05-30-2008 02:15 PM

:eek:Aw, jeez, guys, SHHHHH about the rain!! No whammys on this years playtime!

Jay, since I missed you at A.C back in Feb I'm gonna track you down Saturday - I'll even buy the pizza!

Naumoff 05-30-2008 04:10 PM

I would ride up in the rain but if it is canceled then it would not be much fun if I was the only one to show up.
I have all week to wax the chassis.:D

Cashburn 06-02-2008 05:38 PM

What? You don't like pizza?

Haute Cuisine!

:) Yeah, we figured that we would try sumthin new this year....pizza and sub sandwiches. Not fancy, to be sure, but should help keep the $$ down to a rock-bottom.

And. If it doesn't fly, well, next year we'll go to filet mignon and broccoli rabe. ;)

Cashburn 06-02-2008 07:14 PM

OK, here we go... instead of $5 once a year... make it a filet and $50 once a year? Hear me?

Either way, I expect a great day, with the best of the best. This is an event with legs, we just need to keep it running.

Do we have atleast 30 registrations at this point? I have atleast 6 customers confirmed.

turnpike boy 06-02-2008 08:05 PM

Wit ya, Jay.....

Hmm...well, not at odds with that thought. But sure don't want to scare anybody off with a heavy entry for a day-long event. Maybe we should ask all in attendance what they would like to see? Personally, I'm pressing to get Yeungling to bring down a beer wagon, but I'm pretty sure the park frowns on that .

Hopefully you haven't been disappointed yet, Jay. And we're with you - we also want to keep it going. While we love, and want, to see new stuff every year, we also want very much to keep this as relaxed and easy as possible. Keeping it Cobra-centered is a fundamental, and preferred - but we haven't chased anybody off yet (including PA State Troopers!) and don't intend to start now. A Damn Good Time is the ONLY objective here.

While Steve can give you the hard numbers on pre-regs, I'm pretty sure we are at the 30 mark. Remember also that historically about 50% of the attendees just show up and register on the spot. This means we should have a pretty full lot this year. I'm also pretty confident to tell your crew that they will be happy campers when all is said and done.

Hey, we're amateurs at this! And we're not above getting good input for anything that will make this better every year. But the simple pleasure of a great day out, with these cars and the loonies that love 'em, is still what drives us along.

It's a worthwhile discussion. Keep in mind I am looking at the potential of it to attract more people (and from great distances) without losing the laid back nature. I think this event at 150 Cobras would be the ultimate. Not 200, but just over 100.

Hopefully we are getting there?

turnpike boy 06-03-2008 07:00 AM

Keep yer fingers crossed!

If the weather forecast stays good, we should be knockin' on the door of the magic Ton level. Getting past it just means we just gotta convince the on-the-fence folks that this one is worth an afternoon out :)
