Charmer, also finished grad school at UT (the real one in Austin, TX), and count Austin among my favorite places on the globe. Will be there in May, maybe I'll look you up....may even drag my Cobra along.

Hey Stretch, I'm really sorry to see this motor here again. And I thought you had it sold when I was looking for a motor for my SPF.
Guys, I've had several long conversations, both phone calls and emails, with Stretch about the purchase of this motor only to hear that someone from the TCC had put down a deposit on it about a year and a half ago. I just had an idea:) Why don't you send Brent Mills a PM and make him an offer for the purchase of this motor. I'm not sure he is aware that it is for sale. The perfect motor for his new Kirkham. I remember this being close to the time when Turk does his "Dollars for Brent" drive, so we could all chip in to help him pay for it. I can't think of a better combination: two great guys, a great car, (that needs a motor - a 427so) a great motor, (that needs a home) Man what a marriage! :) :) :) TL :MECOOL: |
Thanks for the kind words Terry. And this is a nice suggestion. I'll follow up with Brent and see if he's in the market for a motor. Heck, if I were in a better place financially, I'd love to just have it shipped to him as a surprise!! Lord knows he's given more than his share of love and good will to us.

I simply cannot believe your motor is still there, with all the side-oiler lust on this site. It'll sell, so don't bail out on it too cheaply. BTW, I sent Ed Cosoltko (sp?). an e-mail asking him about dates for the May, Austin get-together. Haven't heard anything, but I'm still planning to be there the weekend of May 21-22 with my car. It would be a great coincidence if the monthly cruise/cruise-in happened to coincide with that date. |
