Wanted : FE cranks pulley
I'm looking for a single groove crank pulley to go on my 428.. I need it to be 6 1/2" or larger diameter ( the larger, the better). It's the later style that bolts directly to the harmonic's face.. It doesn't have to be pretty, just not bent.

I just noticed your post on FE pulleys...did the March pulley set not help? I ordered the #1905 set, which I think gives about 8% overdrive. Is that what you have? If that's not working, I may have to make my own pulleys....

Big Mike,
March's hi-flow set ( what I have) is still 8% under driven.. It runs the 5.5" lower with the 6" upper. Their other " low drag" one runs a 6.5" upper with the same 5.5" lower. They're all under driven.

undy,
Not positive about pulleys on FE's.(disclaimer )
All pulleys are not created equal;in depth or offset. What ever the correct term is.
I would take these measurements on the pulley you now have. Then have the seller do the same before buying a single pulley.
I don't think you want to start collecting pulleys.

Fred,
I did take measurements, 5.5" OD on my existing March lower pulley and the guy I'm buying it from measured his, 6.75" OD. From what I've read the offsets match up and both are designed for a 7/16" belt. George at Guessford recommended a "pulley" shop in CA to me. The guy had a pristine 6 3/4" dia single groove pulley that's being shipped.... $25 plus shipping... cheap enough. I've his phone number at home if anyone's interested. The "new' pulley combination will net me a 12.5% over driven water pump. cool... literally.

Guys,
If you want a really nice pulley setup, I just recently changed my March #1905 pulley setup to the Concept One Serpentine setup. Low mount alt. is perfect in the LS frame, and it is an overdrive waterpump (6" lower and 5" upper). I wasn't having heating problems, but couldn't keep the v-belt setup from slipping during hard acceleration. Took about 30 min. to install in the car. Its the cats meow, little pricey thhough. http://www.conceptonepulleys.com/fordfe.htm
There are some pics in my gallery of the kit before installation.

I got an OEM Ford single groove crank pulley from a "pulley" company on the west coast. It's 6 3/4" in diameter and aligns perfectly with all the other pulleys. Now my water pump's overdriven by 12.5%. cool.... (hopefully)
Thanks to all for the recommendations..
