CT. Registration Trailering

Question:
How is everyone getting trailered to CT. inspection. Do you all own a trailer, rent a trailer, borrow a trailer. Whats a good source for above questions.???

Pretty much all of the above options are used including flat bed car carrier.
If you use a commercial firm, then work out a multi-trip deal with them..

translated: You will NOT pass on the first time there.

Ditto on Art.

Also, be sure your guy understands you must be on time. The first carrier I hired to get me to Weathersfield got me there late. Needless to say I failed.

I had a flat bed local car towing company and got lucky with the weather in that it did not rain(BOTH TIMES). Had a hard time finding a company with an enclosed one car trailer. If you are lucky, you live near Weathersfield. If not...$$$.

There's a company in Bridgeport/Stratford that rents enclosed trailers at a very reasonable rate. I think they are called Dragone...

When are you scheduled to go to DMV, I have a 28' trailer but little free time. Maybe it will work out

This might be the Antique Car dealer that Jay mentions:

MANNY DRAGONE
1797 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06604

The comment regarding on time, do allow sufficient time to unload in the Wethersfield DMV lot, we had to go to the back lot , away from the inspection lane, just made it the first time. For the 2nd and 3rd trips, had the routine perfected.

If your not familiar with the CT inspection process, might want to read everyone's comments:

As of recently(May) I did not need an appointment for my second trip. After you fail the first time you can just come back wihtin 30 days for reinspection with no appointment.

This is true, and when your former alignment shop does not get your alignment correct (due to a dropped/miscalibrated head) you can return 3 times in one day

Best thing I did was to buy a open trailer(used, but great price) thinking I would only use it 1 or 2 times......needless to say 12 times later, I say it paid off for its self and then some....something to think about
