The Office Manager (very nice lady, I'm sorry I didn't get her name), came outside at 7:45am and got the paperwork for all SB100#'s. By 8:00am when I got to window #2, she was already dialing-for-numbers!

By 8:30am I had #203!:)

I offered to buy her lunch today; she declined!:o

There was a guy at the Santa Clara DMV who brought his Ariel Atom to the DMV for an SB100. That is one hot looking race car. He had a Chevy Cobalt engine that was turbo charged. He said it was putting out approx. 240 HP. For an 1,100 pound car, that is smokin'!

captnken 01-02-2007 01:16 PM

I got #97 at Westminster DMV. Others in line got #98,99,451 and 452 (I think these last two numbers are right...at least they were in the 400's. All received around 9am. They are obviously issued out in some different sequence rather than sequential around the state. Previous Cobra post (2006or 2005) surmized that multiple clerks in Sacr. DMV had different batches of numbers to assign as this same non-sequential issuing of numbers has been noted previously.

yep, mine has the 300HP Turbo Ecotec. It's actually not done yet so I can't give you driving impressions, but it should be fast as all hell.

I had an SB100 Factory Five Daytona Cobra Coupe a couple years ago.

I was 1st inline at Poway MVD at 5:00am there was one other guy who showed up at 7:40 Hats off to the crew at Poway they were dialing 5 phones at a time, I hope I never hear another bussy signal again. We both recieved our numbers at around 9:30, I recieved number 480. Just after they got thru all the DMV computers crashed. luckly it was after we had our numbers registered. We had to wait about an hour to get plates well worth the extra time. The wait is over and no more temps!! :D

Got to Folsom around 1:30 with a propane heater, chair, blankets and a coat ready for camping. It's probably needless to say that I was the first in line -- actually at that point there was no line, just me. Two others showed up around 4:00 and the rest around 6:00. When 8:00 came and the door unlocked, I walked up got number 129 and was out before 8:10. I didn't stick around to see who got what number. Most of the guys there were Cobra guys, there was one that had a sprint car and another with an '32 Ford. Folsom seemed to have it on the ball, for which I am thankful.

dlang14 01-02-2007 02:31 PM

I got #484 at Gilroy DMV this morning. 2 other Cobras received numbers I think 482 and 483, but cannot confirm.

Does anyone know if we need to wait for paperwork in the mail from the DMV for the sequence number before going to the BAR? I'm assuming yes, any idea how long it takes to arrive? I'd like to make the appointment and get it done.

Daryl

Edit I just called the BAR scheduling center and you need the paperwork in the mail before they can make your appointment.

drj 01-02-2007 02:32 PM

Fourth in line at Westminster (with Captnken) at 6 AM. Got our window assignments at 7:45. In promptly at 8. My clerk had no clue. Tried to go through all my completed paperwork again trying to find something to do. I finally insisted he speak to a supervisor. That cleared everything up fast. Waited unitl 9:15 and went hime smiling with #453, a new 3 mo. TOP and a very relieved smile. :-)

drj 01-02-2007 02:34 PM

Oops. Forgot to add: Wait for the DMV letter. The supervisor said it takes 7 - 10 working days. It is ok to make a BAR appointment but you have to have the letter for the actual appointment.
