Be the first on your block to have the Feds knocking on your door. I think I'll pass on this fine opportunity.

Opnydr, how do you know this 'friend'?

Hmmm, I guess someone should pull about a 100 and 'market' them. While it sounds fishy (not to mention unethical) it might be legal.

You appear out of the blue, new to this forum, offering a solution to what every builder in California has worried about since the day they decided to build/buy a Cobra.

My concern is the legitimacy of the eBay listing and you posting it.

Interesting, both DMVs and Headquarters informed me that a VIN or MSO with a VIN number is required. Hopefully this apparent loophole does not eventually create even more visibility and attention which in turn somehow ruins it all someday for the individual car guy that just wants to build and register an existing car. Only a matter of time before a few people manage to F*&^ it up for a lot of others after they figure this out. Ugh.

It's pure BS. They are non transferrable and you must provide an MSO for a new registration or current Title for an existing car to be tranfered. Currently if you want to have an existing, titled car get an SB100 number assigned you must first apply at DMV then go to CHP for VIN verification prior to the SB100 request being input to the DMV system. Once assigned they cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Call your local DMV, or Sacramento, and ask how you would go about the process if you were building your own car from scratch- they will tell you, as they told me, to fill out the paperwork with your phone number as the VIN until CHP assigns you one.

You need not trust my words, but make a phone call before you write a reply in which you bash somebody’s credibility.

Please call Robert Morgester, he is very interested in meeting you to understand your thought process.

BEWARE

This is pure BS. You can not get a SB100 without a MSO, or a Bill of Sale for a Pre-owned replica. SB100 is assigned to a CAR, not to a person or phone number and it is not transferable to another car. It stays with the same car forever! Geez, I can't believe what people will try here.

If you would like me to send you the complete standards on SB100 and SB1578, let me know. Or leave me a number so I can have someone in Sacramento give u a call to explain that you are absolutely and positively wrong.

Is your name Darren? I was in line Tuesday morning with a Darren who has a sequence number from 2006 that he did not use and getting another one for a kirkham and wanted to know how he could get the 2006 SB100 transfered to another vehicle. He has several other suspicious questions, too.
