Average Miles per year put on Cobra
Hello All,
I would like to find out what the average person puts on their Cobra per year. I am looking into insurance and that seems to be an important piece of information.
I would hate to come up short and not have enough milage on my policy to drive.
:JEKYLHYDE

Cobra Ed is that safe to say 2 thousand a year?
With that being said I guess the policy of 6 thousand per year should be more than enough for causal driving on the weekends.

I drive my Cobra as often as possible and have been able to log about 3.5k/ yr so far. I live in the north so November thru March is really not Cobra time. I would maybe get as much as 5k if I lived in AZ or some sunshine state. I don't see driving a Cobra much more than that unless you don't mind the Rain and some less than desireable weather driving, with risky parking etc. Drive it!! Thats why you wanted it.

The original owner of my car put 3,200 miles on in 14 years %/ He pretty much used it for autocross racing (2 miles from home to where he raced) and maybe three car shows a year.
I on the other hand have been averaging about 2500 miles a year. I was closer to 3500 the first year and tapering off a little every year since. The original owner thinks i am driving the wheels off it.
I also live in a northern climate where the good driving season is four to five months. I pushed it occassionally to 9 the first two years.

It would be less, except I drove to the spring fling twice. I guess that was about 1,500 miles added into the total I gave you.
Of course, you need to factor in that 80% of the miles you do will be full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear. :)

8500 miles since last June.
Drive 'em and enjoy 'em, don't just wax 'em! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f8...es/tongue2.gif
You can always fix the paint if you get stone chips and repair the mechanical end of things, but you can NEVER replace the lost fun times you could have had.

The guy I bought my ERA from put 450 miles on it in two years, go figure! Documented from the mileage stated on the title when HE bought the car until when I bought the car from him. I put about 2,000 a year.

If you spent less time posting on CC, you could probably get it up to 2500 miles/yr.
It's 4:30 PM, sunny and 82 °F ... I'm going for a ride! Bye Bye **)

I think I am averaging around 3,000 per year, but I'll bet my average RPMs per mile are 3 times as high as my daily driver....so its really like 9,000 miles per year in engine time equivalent.

Mine sends out request for mileage numbers every couple of years for all of our cars. It was actually a good thing because my wifes car only gets about 8000 per year and her policy was set at the default of 15,000 so our rates went down.

First year about 3000 miles. Have about 5-6 months driving weather. I figure this year will be a bit less, but not by much.
