Rod, DJ - what a mess. I have to respect your ability to remain sane throughout this process. Just remember a great number of us check everyday and are hoping your problems end soon.
|
Thanks Red and everyone.
I wish I knew it actually existed, but I can't tell if the DMV is just playing me or they're actually having this many "issues." In my mind, my Cobra is just a slab, a non-entity, useless pile, until I get that certificate. |
We are all pulling for you here! Just checking in to see the latest news.
As for them playing you. I am reminded of what my brother says (the one in the military). "There is no way 9/11 could be a conspiracy. The government isn't that competent! I'm surprised I get my check every month!" David :):):) |
Hi Rod,
Actually my incorrect cert has the correct address, just the wrong drivers license #. Address, name and driver license # are supposed to be correct so CHP and BAR knows it's really you |
The DMV manager led me to believe that the drivers license number was a more seriou sissue, than the address being incorrect. I'm sure my cert will have the wrong address.
|
:(
Darn, you guys are going through a mess over this. And the sad part is that out there somewhere there are probably a couple of people that actually received theirs and they have your address and drivers license numbers on them. Then in a year or so, the DMV will pull their titles as they are incorrect. Rod, I hope the delivery service catches the mistake and actually returns the package instead of just dumping it at whatever address is on it. I don't think I could go through what you guys are going through. Ron  |
Hi Rod,
The delivery guy with your cert just called me at 9 AM. He can't find you in Milpitas. I told him to call me back in 5 or ten minutes. I called Doug but he doesn't know how to get ahold of you. Call me on my business number 408-867-2750 ASAP DJ |
Rod, I have been following your "progress" here thinking, awwww today he will have good news. What happened to overnight shipping? I'm rootin for ya man! Good Luck!!
John |
Thanks, Don. I appreciate the phone call.
How did Don get my phone number? My phone number is on his SB100 certificate. Don took a chance on the number and it paid off, but the drivers license number on his cert is not mine or his. OK, I just spoke with the delivery guy. My cert is in San Jose right now. I think it actually exists. The deliver guy is rerouting it to my work address on the other side of the Bay Area. According to the delivery person, I should expect it between 12:00-3:00PM TODAY. The horror of it all is that the phone number, address and/or driver's license could be ALL be wrong. How did the delivery person know to call Don? My cert must have Don's phone number. Unbelievable. |
Move!
I think it would be easier to change your name & move, than try taking it back to DMV!;)
jdog P.S. I was starting to hope that you'd get one or two sympathetic motor-heads like me on your jury!:D |
I'm just happy now that it appears that a cert is real for me. All this time, I've had the thought that the DMV was just playing me like a fiddle.
I told the delivery driver that I would come to San Jose and pick it up, but he insisted that it be delivered to me where I wanted it. |
As we used to say from the So Cal Beach cities, Kowabunga Dude! You're on the most incredible roller coaster for this quest. You have to write up the details, and share with some media outlet. Only after you get your car past the BAR and CHP.
Keep looking around the office for Allan Funt Jr. or Tom Bergeron. You have to be on some kind of Funniest Videos show or something like that. |
Let's hope they have the VIN correct!
|
At this point, the name on the cert could say "Fred Flintstone" and I wouldn't care. That's a battle for another day.
By the now this piece of paper could look have aged to the point that it looks like the Constitution. |
Rodney,
The madness continues, but it sounds like there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I was tied up in meetings when Don called and didn't have immediate access to my Yahoo email account to look for your cell phone number. Glad that Don was able to get a hold of you. |
Doug, no problem. At least Don took a "flyer" on the telephone number on his cert. Amazing how much information got switched around.
|
It's Here!
Hey Everyone, I got my SB100 certificate! Whoooppeeeee! :)
I'm officially 2008-054. Name - Correct Street Address - Correct City - Wrong State - Correct  Zip Code - Wrong Phone Number - Wrong TIN # - Correct Now what do I do? I think I need to go down to the DMV with Don, my partner in this mess, and get the info all straightened out. Thank you to everyone. I would like to thank my parents, who raised me, I would like to thank my wife and kids for sticking by my side even in tough times. I would like to thank the Academy for recognizing my achievement in the category of "Best One-Page Piece of Paper Which Could Be Confused With a Blank Piece of White Copier Paper." :MECOOL: As the famous philosopher Eric Cartman (from the show South Park) once said..."Screw you guys, I'm going home." |
They got the driver's license # wrong too.
|
Congratulations. Even for the California DMV this has been quite a saga. If you do go back in to have all that straightened out, make them give you a copy to use as they will lose the original for sure. I have heard some horror stories, but I believe this one tops them all. I would have been in jail by now from the fits I would have gone in and thrown at the DMV. :) Ron |
Yowzerr
